Pier Bar is part of the Pier One Sydney Harbour Hotel at Dawes Point, with outdoor seating directly over Walsh Bay and views across to the Harbour Bridge. Locals describe it as a comfortable spot to settle in for the afternoon — the outdoor couch on the back side of the hotel is a known favourite. Happy hour runs 5pm to 6pm weekdays.

Dogs are welcome on-leash at the outdoor seating. Water bowls are provided. The bar offers a pet menu alongside its regular menu. The surrounding Rocks precinct has several other confirmed dog-friendly pubs within walking distance — The Glenmore Hotel and Harbour View Hotel both nearby.

Dog rules

Dogs are welcome on the pier and at the outdoor bar and dining areas, on lead.

Please keep dogs leashed, calm, and under control for the comfort of all patrons.

Fantastic service from amazing staff! 🤩 Super pet-friendly, and the views are stunning. 🏞️ The food and drink menus for pets are also fabulous and very formal ✨. A lovely bar to chill all day long! 🍹🐾 #Service #Staff #Pets #Views #Food #Drinks #Bar #Chill

This was once a favourite location for, my wife and I. We are Sydney locals. After visiting yesterday I was very disappointed. We had bad attitude from the bar staff. We ordered oysters and they were tiny and smothered in vinaigrette. We also bought a bottle of Rosē. It was an easy choice due to the wine list having one to choose from. No music and less atmosphere. It felt lazy and leaning on the gorgeous view. Premium prices for bar minimum effort. It’s a shame as this place used to be so much fun.

We enjoyed Happy Hour at Pier Bar in the Pier One Sydney Harbour Hotel at the Rocks. Happy Hour is from 5pm to 6pm Monday to Friday and I must say they are probably serving up some of the best freshly shucked oysters in Sydney for $2 per oyster during this period. If you are an oyster lover and don't mind a cocktail or nice glass of bubbles or wine at half the price whilst sitting by the harbour watching the boats go by then I would definitely put this place on your to do list over summer. Pier Bar Happy Hour highly recommended.

Very comfortable cafe ! Right by the pier, the view was amazing & the drinks costs were reasonable. The outdoor couch on the backside of hotel was really comfortable to chill out. Great value 👍

Though overdue, I couldn't resist sharing our extraordinary experience at this restaurant. We chose to celebrate our elopement wedding here last November 2022, just as they reopened after renovation, and it was nothing short of amazing. The service was impeccable; the sommelier and front of house team were incredibly attentive, friendly, and impressively knowledgeable about their cuisine. The ambiance and hospitality created a delightful atmosphere. Each dish surpassed expectations, perfectly complemented by thoughtfully paired wines. It truly was a beautiful experience, making our special day even more memorable. Thank you, Gantry Restaurant, for exceeding all our expectations.
