2nd time at Caness and loved it even more! Service is perfect, really attentive and the food is delicious - the basque cheesecake was great (a little too sweet but very good) and the fish was cooked to perfection! Absolute gave is the bread - steals the show
So a colleague and I drove to Paddington to dine. We finally found a park, and stumbled upon Caness. And so glad we did. What an amazing night. The restaurant was kind of full so we sat at a table on the footpath. The wait staff were amazing and all the food on the set menu was on point. Thank you for a great night.
After a few disappointing experiences with newly opened restaurants, along comes Caness and life is good again. From the moment the door opens and we were greeted the service was nothing but exceptional. Friendly, knowledgeable, attentive attentive without being intrusive. So even before we ordered, the 5 stars we're looming. The menu consists of tapas in various sizes. It's very difficult to choose, but the good thing with tapas: small sizes so you can try more..and we pretty much did. Everything was just delicious and very clever. And to top it off we had a flan (because..you cant leave without flan!). The wine recommendations were exceptional and fitted well with the meal. The place is not big but caters for all group sizes..and solo dining at the counter is no issue at all. I think I found a new favourite...
A much needed wonderful new place on Oxford street Paddington. Delicious middle eastern Spanish flavoured tapas. Very friendly staff from the moment you walk through the door. Well priced wines and cocktails.
We had an amazing dining experience at Caness! We first visited last week and were blown away by the food. We loved the Jamón from Spain and the piquillo peppers were incredibly flavorful. TheTuna Salmorejo was a highlight, and the fish of the day was the best I’ve had in Sydney, don’t miss the Kubaneh, their homemade bread!!!! We also enjoyed the canapés, the steak tartare and the Paddington Sabich were both superb. The cocktails, especially the Clear Gazpacho, were refreshing and delicious. A special mention to Juan, the owner, who was incredibly attentive and made us feel like home, thank you!. We loved it so much that we returned this week to try more dishes, there’s so much variety, and we can’t wait to explore more of the menu. As locals, Caness has quickly become our new favourite spot, and we’ll definitely be back time and time again!!
