Tailor Room was such a welcome surprise. Located in Rocks area of Sydney, we walked in for a cocktail and immediately felt comfortable given the rustic but cozy setting. The two mixologists walked us through the menu, which was a new angle for us—and we have been to many cocktail lounges over the years. The menu is based on fabrics. Pick a fabric that resembles the drink you are in the mood for. Pattern and feel matter. I chose the brown leather and ended up with a boozy, bourbon drink that hit the spot. The menu does allow you to “cheat” by referencing the drinks and their ingredients in the back of the menu. Try doing it without looking to get the full experience. This place, along with a Michelin one star restaurant in Lagos, Portugal whereby you choose drinks by curated perfume samples, challenge the senses resulting in a new ways to enjoy a cocktail. Tailor Room is a great little hidden cocktail bar with a cosy, classy vibe. The drinks are creative and really well made, and the bartenders are friendly and happy to chat or help you choose something you’ll love. It’s a perfect weekend stop for a relaxed, quality cocktail before or after dinner.

A cosy, romantic bar with delicious cocktails! The menu is organised from lightest to strongest in texture and taste, making it easy to choose based on your preference. Perfect spot for date nights or a casual catch up with a friend or two.

We were booked for a table at the Cutt around the corner and decided on a couple of drinks at Tailor Room, both part of the collective at the Rocks. Cosy little bar, themed on a tailor room with cocktails based on different fabrics. A novel idea and each drink was presented on the fabric as a coaster. The service was great and each drink was explained in detail. This bar would be ideal on date night but not the pick for a group of mates. Seemed overdone and I should have ordered a simple scotch or two, rather than the mixture of cocktails. I might visit again with my wife when the drinks and mood would be better appreciated.

An intimate cocktail bar with series of themed cocktails based around fabric. We enjoyed the velvet and the wool cocktail. The velvet was surprisingly fruity for a milk stout cocktail - I really enjoyed it. The bar seats about 25.
