We enjoyed a very special birthday dinner at China Doll. Despite the restaurant being packed and the waiters being very busy, they were always friendly and cheerful. I was amazed they were able to maintain that energy towards the end of the night. I think we ordered too much food, but it was good to have the variety of dishes. A highlight was the Wagyu cheeseburger crispy wontons, which were delicious. I’ve been recommending China Doll to others a lot since we dined there recently.

An excellent lunch just before the end of the year at China Doll. Great ambience, lovely mocktails, delicious food and great service. Cannot really complain about anything other than the fact that there are no vegetarian/vegan dumplings and only one single other main for vegos. A little disappointed by that in this day and age. We ordered everything on the menu that was vegetarian friendly and it was delicious overall. Highly recommend if you do dine here.

This was our third visit to China Doll and it didn't disappoint. Despite hosting lots of Christmas parties, the service was excellent. We had the $65pp banquet and everything was tasty—especially the ginger scallops, the watermelon and duck salad, and the delicious Wagyu Beef Penang curry. However, the best bit was undoubtedly the pork belly—crispy, flavoursome, and a generous portion. If you go, make sure you get the pork! A great dining experience in Woolloomooloo.

China Doll delivered one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The pork belly was succulent, full of flavour, and truly the best I’ve ever tasted. The cheeseburger wontons were a fun and creative twist crispy, flavour-packed, and unlike anything I’ve had before. The San Choy Bow with pork and peanuts made for a perfect starter — light and fresh. The fried rice was bursting with flavour, and the prawns in it were perfectly cooked — juicy, tender, and not at all overdone. The Wagyu stir-fry was another highlight; the beef was perfectly cooked and absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The service was fantastic, with friendly staff who offered great cocktail recommendations. Combined with the vibrant atmosphere, it made for a perfect dinner from start to finish. Highly recommend China Doll for anyone looking for top-quality food, great service, and an all-around exceptional dining experience.

We come here often for a birthday meal. The dumplings/dim sum in the entree are phenomenal. You can actually get half servings of the dumplings too (so 2 instead of 4). I loved the spicy soy wontons, shu mai, steamed prawn and green bean dumpling (like har gao), fried chicken dumplings. The duck pancake was good but we were quite full by then (cant do a half serving). We opted not to get mains as we prefer the dumplings. We also got steamed chinese veges. The service was great, although our inside table of two was quite small and was a bit squishy placing all our food. The atmosphere can be a little busy and noisy as the tables aren’t spread out, but the food certainly makes up for it. Highly recommend China Doll
