Batch Brewing Company

Maybe I’ve been spoilt. I’ve just come from Hawke’s Brewing who allow you to choose. Sydney Brewery last night allowed me to choose. And yet, Batch who has 2 other customers on a quiet Tuesday afternoon wont allow me to change their pre-determined tasting paddle of which I’ve had half already. I get that choosing a paddle can slow down the bar on a busy day but 1 fixed paddle option is crazy. They should visit The Grainstore for inspiration, or offer a few options like Foghorn in Newcastle does. Anyway, the beer is good otherwise

Be incredibly careful if you go into Batch. We have been going to Batch for years. Today, my very gentle brother-in-law, who has completed a brewing course, made an idle remark about barley & hops. The lady he asked the question about barley clearly did not have any answers and somehow took offence to this for no reason. We went back to the table and assumed she was having a bad day. She then approached our table aggressively. The manager, who wasn't even at the bar at the time of the incident, approached us and, in a weird power play, somehow got us kicked out of the bar. We were two couples with three children. It was ridiculous & we were, and are, absolutely gobsmacked. We will never include Batch on our traditional inner west brewery tour again, which we have been doing for years, and it's sad, as we have always been so proud to host this tour. Luckily, they won't be missed as there are so many other great breweries with friendly staff. Good luck, Batch. With staff like this, you will need it. 😔

We visited on a Tuesday afternoon and it was quite and didn’t have to many people. My favourite was Elsie’s milk that is a dark Ale which is surprising because I don’t normally like them ! Another favourite was a raspberry beer 🍺. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Had a great experience

Great selection, perfect spot for a midday beer, not to busy on opening if you're looking to avoid a crowd. Decently busy within the hour. Loved the chocolate milk stout

Very good range of beer, better than Philter but not as good as Mixtape or Pickled Monkey. Nice quiet brewery, food from food van outside. Very good dark ale and really good ginger beer -great option if looking for a great beer and low key feel, but i’d still go to Mixtape. Staff at Batch weren’t particularly welcoming, a bit ‘superior’, doing us a favor.
