Sydney Park Wetlands is a popular spot for dogs that enjoy the water. The main area is a shallow, pond-like space where dogs can wade in gradually, making it a common place for first swims.
Stepping stones run through the water, so people can move across while dogs explore around them. It's a useful place to cool down after a walk through the wider park, though water conditions can vary at times.
Dogs must be on a leash at this park under City of Sydney rules. Off-leash exercise is permitted only in the City of Sydney's designated off-leash areas. (Source: City of Sydney Council — cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au)
Lovely spot to take your dog for a splash in a shallow pond.
Huge place. Numerous pathways to walk out ride. Several side trails to explore. Took my grandkids there and they had a lot of fun. Playground was good, a nice size. Parking was a bit of a challenge. Not too clear as to where to go, so ended up parking on the street. A LOT of dogs. Wow!! Most of them off-leash. Didn't expect this park to be a dog park. Was okay, but if that's a concern, don't go.
Sydney Park Wetlands is a beautiful urban escape with scenic walking tracks, open green spaces, and tranquil water features. The wetlands are home to diverse birdlife, making it a great spot for nature lovers and photographers. It’s also family- and dog-friendly, with plenty of space for picnics, cycling, and relaxation. A perfect mix of nature and city convenience.
This was a great place to relax, with a lovely atmosphere, with lots of dogs being walked. There was a great little cafe in the middle of the park. I had the 'surfs up' fresh squeezed juice A few more bins so people could put the doggy scoop bags in would be a good idea, though
This beautiful spot is ideal for bird watching. There are benches nearby to relax or one can go for a leisurely walk. Frogs could be heard, though I couldn't spot any. It's much appreciated that such an island of beauty exists within the city. The area is dog friendly. There are a few cafes, within the park, not far from the wetlands. A visit is highly recommended.
