Botany View Hotel has a number of spaces across both levels. Downstairs is a standard bar setup, while upstairs offers a shaded beer garden with shelter, as well as a series of separate rooms.
It has a moody, retro arcade-meets-dive-bar vibe with a slightly playful, theatrical edge. Those upstairs rooms are what make it particularly useful with dogs. Each has couches and enough space for groups to spread out, giving it more of a relaxed, living room-style feel where dogs can settle in comfortably.
Dogs are welcome throughout the venue, including both downstairs and upstairs areas.
Giant multi level venue with much to offer. Has pool tables, karaoke, pinball machines, fancy cocktails and a pristine rooftop area to chill at. Happy hour is an absolute steal going from 7-9 most days (5 dollar house spirits). Feel like we haven’t seen those prices at those times for almost a decade. Also a large selection of craft tap beers which I will run through next time We went for Tuesday night trivia hosted by trivia mafia. The host was wonderful and gave out generous prizes. Also, there were chances to win free jugs of beers between rounds. The venue is pet friendly too, lots of cute dogs sitting around chill and all. Management have done a great job revamping this place and I can only imagine that it’ll only get better.
Love this place, such a cool vibe with amazing little different rooms to relax in upstairs. Great live music several nights a week too. Reminds me of some Melbourne pubs in the best possible way
We were delighted with this venue for a 21st birthday party. We booked the bar area upstairs for 50 and organised delicious finger foods in advance with very reasonable prices. The eclectic group of friends and family were impressed with the room, the food, the drinks and the vibe. The staff were very approachable and helpful and assisted in making it a super night.
This is a great pub. I go on a Sunday for jazz and it’s awesome. Not normally a jazz person but these guys have got me into it. On top that, this a very friendly warm pub. No hostility or nastiness that you receive in another pubs. It’s open arms! ❤️❤️❤️
Interesting pub We stopped off for drinks here on our way to one of the restaurant in King Street Newtown. It close to St Peter’s station and walkable from Newtown station. Good house wine and friendly staff. The pub has a lot of areas to sit in including a roof top garden but no views. Good music and a band was setting up just as we were leaving. There is also pool tables and a pinball machine. We don’t try the food. Clean bathrooms. Love your local guide-M❤️
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
