Wow! What an experience. From the moment we entered the garden driveway we knew we were in for a treat. The impressive steps, the stained glass on the veranda, the dome, the dinning room, the bedroom, the balcony & the hallways with their secret doors to the communal bathrooms. I was in ore of this stunningly beautiful Heritage building. It is a must see & stay. Meals were very good & staff were very nice. Front desk were special people. May the Carrington Katoomba live on forever. God Bless
This was a step apart from the ultra modern Hotels. It has personal service, exquisite style and there were so many unique opportunities (little gems of seating areas, cozy, private, restful) to encourage you to rest and read, or sit and engage in quite conversation and connect. The food was splendid including the brasserie and breakfast. The staff were delightful and engaged. We stay in some 5 star hotels and have enjoyed them all and yet, this Art Deco gem in Katoomba has us coming back. We met today with family at The Carrington for lunch and to book a family weekend together to stay. Everyone is on-board. Cannot wait to stay again.
We did not stay but ate in the Grand Dining Room. Both enjoying the tender beef cheeks and delicious potatoes and broccoli a decent size serving also. The service was excellent and we highly recommend dining in this historic and beautiful room ornately painted with stunning ĺighting and beautiful piano music. Enjoy!
Dined in the Grand Dining Room with long time friends at our annual get together. Excellent food, interesting and delicious, served promptly. Fabulous setting, talented pianist provided music to enhance the atmosphere. Pleasant and amenable staff. A really enjoyable evening; despite the oppressive heat outside, we were very comfortable.
They host the Blue Mountains Writers Festival here and it's the perfect venue for it. The Baroque room is a great space to catch an intimate show as you sit in the bygone splendour of the place. I definitely recommend you catch a gig here. The external gardens are also beautiful. If the owners aren't careful some of the internal common areas could verge on the edge of RSL vibes.
