Jenny’s Cafe at Brontë Beach is a great spot for classic fish and chips. After walking up and down the street of eateries, I decided on this place when I saw the generous plates being served to other customers. The fish was fresh, with a light coating of batter that wasn’t too thick, and the portion was generous. The chips were crisp and well-fried without being soggy. Best of all, you can sit alfresco by the pavement and enjoy views of the ocean while you eat – a perfect beachside experience.
I ordered my usual cafe staple for when I’m trying not to spend $$$ - scrambled eggs on sourdough. I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a large serving, served by the staff with politeness & warmth, representing great value for money. Eggs were nicely cooked, not overcooked, with chives and flavour.
Great! The burger and chicken schnitzel were also very tasty, fresh, and plentiful. I came towards the end of the day, so the staff seemed quite tired, and they were out of sauces, but the service was still good. It's not a place I'd consider becoming a regular, but it's worth it for the quality, price, and service. I could recommend it for a quick takeaway to the beach or for a comfortable meal at home after beach day!.
$16 for sweet potato chips that have been cooked and recooked several times over. :(
Basic but tasty fish and chips. Crispy and not greasy. Excellent chicken schnitzel wrap and tasty smoothies.
