What people say
Expensive but worth the splurge for a special occasion. The staff were great to us and the food was delicious. We went all out and had appetisers, entrees mains and dessert. Didn’t take photos of everything we had but it was all fantastic.
We visited Mimi’s about a month ago to celebrate our engagement which has happened right before our booking, and I have to say we could not have chosen a better restaurant for such a special occasion. From the moment we arrived, the team was incredibly kind and welcoming. They knew we were celebrating and gave us the time to truly enjoy the moment, never rushing us to order. In fact, it was the opposite — they offered us champagne while we waited, which was a lovely touch. A special shout-out to Kate, the host/manager, and Martha who looked after our table. Their kindness and professionalism made the entire experience even more memorable. We chose the set menu, which was an excellent decision. The food was beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. We will definitely be returning to try more from the à la carte menu. Mimi’s is well worth the visit and is highly recommended for a special occasion. It truly delivers a fine-dining experience in both food and service.
Restaurant food and service was good. Atmosphere was a little too noisy, you have to talk really loud to hear each other. I find the hot seafood platter was a bit pricy for the proportion.
I had high expectations for this restaurant, but after dining here, I think there’s still room for improvement. One service detail stood out — the hostess didn’t come to greet us right away, as she was chatting with another staff member, though she quickly realized and came over soon after. The dishes were generally nice, but they felt a bit overpriced for what they were. My favorite was the baked spanner crab — savory, rich in flavor, and paired with soft, warm bread. It did get a little heavy towards the end, though. The caviar pie was also very rich — I could barely finish a quarter of it. The desserts were on the sweeter side and remained unfinished. The restaurant itself is lovely, with a comfortable atmosphere and beautiful window views. However, Sydney has many fine-dining restaurants that deliver a more balanced overall experience — with better service, more refined dishes, and more reasonable pricing. I think Mimi’s still has some room to grow in that regard.
My sister and brother-in-law took me to Mimi’s for my birthday — I’d been wanting to check this place out for ages, so I was really excited to finally go. The venue is stunning and the staff were all so friendly and welcoming. As for the food, it was nice, but not quite as flavourful as we expected, especially after hearing so many great things from friends. It just didn’t have that “wow” factor we were hoping for. Still enjoyable, just not mind-blowing. Overall, it was a lovely experience — great location, beautiful atmosphere, and excellent service. The food was okay, but the staff definitely made the visit feel special.
