The Irish Way is a cafe in Randwick. Dog access isn't confirmed, so it's best to check with the venue before visiting with your dog. Just 100m away, Alison Park is a great nearby park for a walk with your dog.
The place is easy to find, has street parking, near a mall, opposite a beautiful park and bus stop. Has a few tables outside and inside. Staff are lovely and friendly. They offer table service and takeaways. Menu is varied and has some very good options. Some of the nicest food and drinks we've ever had. The drinks also came with free little Brownie bites which we really loved. Dogs are allowed outside. Food portions and prices were very reasonable. The food itself was a little lukewarm but it wasn't that bad. Would seriously reccomend.
Went to Irish Way a few times recently, and it's always a solid - there's so many options on both the breakfast and the lunch menu. On Saturday, I tried the Christmas loaded chips special and will be going back again just for it! The food is good value, and the soup in particular is always top notch. The sausages are also 10/10 in terms of taste compared to back home in Ireland! The coffee is also great as it's the Barry's tea!
First time impressions were great, one easy step to get in, even with the pram. Bub slept the whole time, even with the traffic it’s a peaceful spot to enjoy your food and coffee. Food was absolutely delicious! So glad we came!
Just like back home... came for the soup it did not disappoint. We even took away some. Had the full Irish and it was lovely also. The restaurant is lovely and bright and airy and the staff are great. Normal wait time for food. Good service. Sandwiches looked amazing too. Will be travelling from central coast again.
I really don’t take a lot of joy at all in writing negative-type reviews, but my experience here was unfortunately quite disappointing. The staff were lovely, smiley and friendly, although a little slow and inconsistent. At first glance the meal looked good, but many parts were really lacking. Both of the ‘puddings’ were really quite low quality. Over-processed with hardly any texture whatsoever and little to none of that authentic gamey/ earthy flavour. The white pudding itself was mushy and the black not much better. I have had many even store-bought black and white puddings in Australia and some of them are genuinely really decent, these ones were quite honestly some of the worst representations of some of my favourite food items, which was a huge disappointment as they were quite literally the thing that made me come. The mushrooms and tomato were very underwhelming with absolutely no seasoning. Both were technically cooked fine, but tasted very bland. The fried potatoes were the same and lacked any kind of seasoning or flavour and I’m not sure if they were old or the wrong type but they were also kind of gritty in texture. The fry on them was very light and they were not really crispy at all. On a positive note, both the bacon and sausages were really fantastic. The sausages were a nice coarse, proper quality English/Irish-type sausage and the bacon also was thick, fibrous and had a great fry and crisp to it. The sourdough was also really nice and fresh and not rock hard like is very common in cafés. The eggs were also perfect. As much as I did really enjoy the sausages and bacon, it wasn’t enough to save my disappointment from everything else on the plate. It was all a bit bland and lacked love and attention to detail, and although this is simply a ‘fry up’ I was quite shocked that half of it was ‘meh’. I also ordered a Barry’s tea, which I drink pretty much every day, and I’m not sure if this was a different blend or a little old, but it really lacked that intense, smooth flavour that I’m used to. At $31.50 I really felt that this missed the mark and a few very small touches could have made this great and worth the higher price tag. There were a few other little issues with ordering both for me and some of the other diners, but I got the impression the server may have been relatively new and she was alone so I have no desire to be harsh towards her. Appreciated the design, decor, and staff friendliness, so apologies for the more negative, granular review.
