Kings Tavern is a pub in Potts Point where dog access has not yet been confirmed — it's worth checking before you visit.
Being stopped by security and not allowed to enter whilst hosting clients was an avoidable situation. Everyone was sober, middle-aged and polite. When you have security on personal power trips at the expense of your patronage you have a problem. It now explains why the place was empty when other venues were full last night when we visited.
We had the most unpleasant experience at this venue with the security guards going through our bags. We just finished work and they asked the most ridiculous questions - like where we just came from. They also didn’t know what leather cleaner was which was sealed and inside a box. They asked what the plant was in my bag and I said it’s mint. I asked if they wanted to smell it and they called me a smartass. We were just after a post-work beverage but they lost the venue money. After all that they were going to let us in but we decided to go elsewhere after that experience. So my advice would be to hire security guards who actually know what the signs of intoxicated people look like so they don’t immediately interrogate potential customers.
Steak platter deal was a steal at less than $20.
Food was cold and our seafood basket was over cooked. The chips looked like they were pre cooked. Terrible food. I should have read the reviews prior to coming in for lunch.
The chicken schnitty and the sirloin steak for $14 can't be beat! Absolutely delicious!! Very filling. I've been here 3 days in a row now.. and great smoking room too. Very comfy compared to some places I've been to in the past where the smoking room seems like an after thought. Recommended to all!!
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
