The location is hard to beat: perched on Marine Parade in Watsons Bay with sweeping views of Sydney Harbour and the city skyline — perfect for a special outing or scenic lunch. Because of the prime location, you’re paying partly for the view and heritage — not just for the meal itself. If you’re after a memorable beachfront dining experience in Sydney, with historical charm and excellent views, Doyles on the Beach is a strong choice. It’s especially suited for a special occasion, scenic lunch or dinner where ambience is just as important as food. Tips Book ahead and ask for an outside/terrace table to make the most of the view. Visit at lunch if you want slightly better value and daylight views.

Went in for brunch with friends. Got the garlic prawns and the prawn and crab pasta. Both dishes were very very average and super bland. Customer service was questionable. Some servers were nice, some not so. There was a bit of miscommunication. One of the wait staff asked if we had finished and pointed at the chips which we said yes, however, then proceeded to clear the entire table...I'll leave this as a case of miscommunication. However, as I said the food was not that flavourful anyway so we really didn't make a fuss of it. There were nice city views... ngl, however, for the price and limited menu options, I would rather eat in the city or literally anywhere else.... especially where the vibe isnt so forced. The drive there was a mission, parking was a mission, everything was just mediocre at best. There was parking for Doyles customers which was probably the best thing on offer alongside their QR table ordering facility, however that's not enough to make me want to come back. If it wasnt for that, we definitely would have driven off and reinchecked for a different restaurant and location.

The location is beautiful. The sunset here is mesmerizing. But that is about where the good things end. The food is as bland and boring as a microwavable meal. I had to walk to the waiters to get anything for my table. Salt, water, cutlery, etc... and to finish with a golden ticket. The steak burger came without THE STEAK. One would think that the ingredient which that the dish is named after would be present and yet, I got arugula and bread for 40 dollars.

Fantastic meal at Doyle’s Garden Bar, all the cocktails and plates we had were amazing. Highly recommend the garlic prawns and the espresso martinis. Top spot that we look forward to visiting again. James Ashwin

Food was pretty decent. Ordered kingfish, fish and chips, as well as surf and turf. We enjoyed the surf and turf and ordered a second plate to share. Customer service can be better. The ordering system needs improvement as it shows a limited menu as compared to the actual menu offered at the bar. Good place to chill and relax. Went there for lunch but would recommend dinner time for the sunset.
