ANZAC Park
ANZAC Park is a park in Crows Nest with plenty of shade. Dog access isn't confirmed, but it may be worth checking.
Dog rules
North Sydney is a dog-friendly area and all Council parks and public reserves are off-leash areas, except for bushland areas, playing fields when organised sporting events are in progress, and venues where dogs are not allowed. Dogs must be under effective control at all times. (Source: North Sydney Council — northsydney.nsw.gov.au)

What people say
Pleasant place for family and dogs. Lots of shady areas and I love the community garden. Do show respect for the hard work the gardeners have put in to make it a pretty place to visit!
Community garden is delightful and refreshing.
Really nice to have an ANZAC Memorial in this part of Sydney, where you can connect to Gallipoli and the events surrounding it from WW I. Located opposite the ANZAC Park Public School. There's a well maintained community garden as well.
Good place to pay respect to soldiers. There is a small community vegetable garden at the back too. Do not expect a playground for kids, but there are a few other parks close by, including a golf course across the bridge.
Especially the community garden was nice.
