Dudley Page Reserve is a large, open grassed reserve in Dover Heights, famous for its sweeping views of the city skyline and harbour. Dogs are welcome on-leash, and the wide lawns give plenty of room for a relaxed walk. It is a favourite vantage point for New Year fireworks and a fine spot for a picnic. A spacious on-leash reserve with a standout outlook.

Best spot to see new year fireworks 🎆 and top spot to view and take photos, top family friendly New Year fireworks 🎆 and dance party 🥳 I 😉 love ❤️ this park. ❤️ this reserve has arguably the best city and harbour views with uninterrupted views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera plus views of of Rose Bay, the city skyline and North Sydney 😀 today I took photos of the sunset 🌇 here. Dudley Page Reserve in Dover Heights is widely celebrated for its stunning, panoramic views of the Sydney skyline, making it a must-visit destination for locals and tourists alike. 🤩 Key Highlights Breathtaking Views: The reserve is arguably the area's best spot for viewing iconic landmarks, including the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House, and Centrepoint Tower, all set against the backdrop of the city and harbour. Sunset Spot: Its elevated position offers an unparalleled vantage point for watching the sunrise and sunset over the city, making it extremely popular for photographers and romantic picnics. NYE Fireworks: It transforms into one of Sydney's most sought-after (and often ticketed) locations for viewing the New Year's Eve fireworks display due to its clear, open line of sight. 🌳 Atmosphere & Activities The park has a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere, perfect for an easy afternoon out. Picnics & Gatherings: The flat, grassy areas and availability of shade make it an ideal picnic spot for families and friends. Family-Friendly: There is a playground (best suited for small children), a small bike track, and plenty of open space for kids to run around. Fitness: The reserve features an outdoor gym and is connected to the scenic Waverley Cliff Walk for those looking for exercise with a view. Dog-Friendly: Dogs are permitted in the reserve, provided they are kept on-leash. ⚠️ Practical Considerations While the views are world-class, there are a few practical points to keep in mind: Seating: There are limited benches, so bringing a picnic blanket or folding chairs is recommended. Crowds: Due to its popularity, the reserve can become quite crowded, especially during peak sunset hours or on public holidays. Parking: Limited free on-street parking is available nearby, so plan to arrive early to secure a spot. Facilities: While public toilets may be available for major events (like NYE), public restrooms are generally limited or require a short walk to the closest facilities. Overall Verdict: Dudley Page Reserve is highly recommended for its spectacular, million-dollar views of Sydney Harbour. It’s a fantastic, versatile outdoor space for a casual visit, a workout, or a memorable sunset experience.

This park is beautiful! Watching the sunrise over Sydney was a breathtaking experience, although it was quite busy at that time. The playground could use some upgrades, and adding shade nets would make it even better for families.

Dudley Page Reserve is hands down one of the best spots in Sydney for city views. Absolutely breathtaking, especially on a clear day or around sunset. Peaceful, scenic, and the perfect place to pause, take it all in, and appreciate the skyline.

If you want the ultimate view of the Sydney skyline, you have to go to Dudley Page Reserve. From here, you get a perfect panoramic shot of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House together. It’s an open, grassy park that is perfect for taking photos without the crowds you find closer to the city. Definitely worth the trip up the hill for this vantage point.
