Lomatia Park is an on-leash walking area in Springwood — it's not a designated off-leash zone. The park is home to the Springwood District Dog Training Club. There are toilets, parking, and a playground. The open oval and surrounding streets make for a good on-leash walk.

Dog rules

Dogs must be on a leash. Lomatia Park is NOT designated as a dog off-leash area by Blue Mountains City Council. The site is a cricket ground and also hosts the Springwood District Dog Training Club (private hire). The nearest council off-leash areas are Summerhayes Park, Winmalee and Sun Valley Reserve. Great park, basketball, cricket nets, baseball, playground, dog park, picnic. Lots of open space and nature areas. Great oval, always maintained well.

Nice open park with oval; no sports at the moment given Covid. Not sure whether this used to be an off leash area as signs say Dogs must be on leash. Play equipment is good for older kids, maybe 5 and up. A small toddler swing is about all that works for us. Basketball court and cricket nets. Beautiful big trees and bush setting. Access is a bit limited, the car park is small and the lane is basically wide enough for one car so you might need to wait to pass someone on the way in.

We walk to Lomatia Park often. The streets around make for a good distance or cardio session, some being steep! Occasionally we will do a loop walk on the bushwalking tracks, to or from Springwood, along Madolune Glen or Birdwood Gully. These would make a nice walk for people suitably fit, and prepared, looping from Springwood Station, down into the gullies ( e.g. from Boland Ave) There are other bushwalking tracks from here, down (some steep grades, some with well-made stone or timber steps, some with occasionally loose sandstone) into and along the nearby gullies. Google maps will help you find your way. Lomatia Park is in a very pretty and historic setting. It is in frequent use for seasonal sports, dog walkers and (as needed) emergency helicopters, even at night. The only thing missing is public access to the toilets when teams are not present to keep them open, and supervised. There is a well set-up playground and cricket nets.

Watch this space, new clubhouse in the making at the moment. Great memories here. Nice little tucked away spot in Springwood. Go the Royals 😁👍👍

Used to be a nice oval for cricket or kicking a ball around as well as a basketball court. Very small playground to the side with a slide and swing. Poorly maintained recently with very long grass throughout, snake hazard for kids. Wouldnt recommended for younger children
