Oratnek is one of those cafés that actually lives up to the hype. Fresh, well-balanced dishes, great coffee, and attention to detail in every plate. The fritters were a standout, crispy, flavourful, and perfectly paired with a light, refreshing salad. Relaxed vibe, great outdoor seating, and overall just a spot that consistently delivers. Definitely worth a visit.
We enjoyed our Sunday morning here, many japanesy dish on the menu, bit different to the usual cafe. The chashu bene was flavourful, would have preferred regular bread instead of the rice bread. Brownie and tiramisu were delicious. Dish portions were smaller than expected given the price, though service was friendly and has good indoor/outdoor seating.
Dined on a Sunday where it happened to be full house. Order was taken pretty early but our order wasn’t passed to the kitchen properly. Saw people who were seated after, get their food before us. Had to follow up on our drinks first. Also had to have our order reconfirmed twice and then food came out. The burger was pretty bland, needed to keep dipping in ketchup for taste. Pork Sando was juicy and thick. You have to eat it quick otherwise the juice/oils make the blue paper bleed.. Matcha lamington was dull. Needs a jam or matcha cream filling to liven it up Bit disappointed as I’ve wanted to dine here for a while
As a cafe known for their matcha items, I understand that the intensity of the flavour is probably suited for most people’s preferences. For myself, I would like my matcha extremely intense and bitter. The more bitter the better. Katsu sandwiches were delicious, wish they lasted longer cuz it was 3 bites and GONE. Yuzu tea was delicious, hot instead of cold which was a nice change. I can’t remember the taste of the lasagna looking dish. Apple pie pastry with vanilla ice cream was nice and light. Maybe a bit too light with the crispy pastry, I felt like I was eating nothing hahaha The matcha cake!! I wish it had a more intense matcha flavour, but if you prefer yours more mild, you’ll like it!
Love this place ! Came here on a random Wednesday morning and was pleasantly surprised. The ottoman poached eggs were fantastic (I really appreciate the sourdough being multigrain), coffee was good and the matcha cheesecake was ginormous. Everything delicious. Staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was great.
