Chippendale Green is a green urban park beside Central Park in Chippendale, a welcome patch of lawn in a built-up area. It has a designated off-leash area, and it is a lively spot where plenty of local dogs gather to play. There are benches and picnic tables on hand, with the surrounding architecture giving it a distinctive backdrop. A handy inner-city green for an off-leash break.
Dogs must be on a leash at this park under City of Sydney rules. Off-leash exercise is permitted only in the City of Sydney's designated off-leash areas. (Source: City of Sydney Council — cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au)
Chippendale Green Central Park Sydney. 25/07/22 Chippendale Green is part of Central Park which occupies 5.8 hectares on the former Carlton and United Brewery on Broadway. An iconic part of Chippendale’s rich history, this site now houses an urban development of residential, student living, a multi-level shopping centre, commercial office spaces, hotels, plus the beautiful Chippendale Green in the heart of it. Where 28 Broadway, Chippendale NSW 2008. Today I visited central park mall, I got lunch and eat at Chippendale Green, there here steel fencing on the lawn and wooden deck due to maintenance.
This is a really interesting place. Great to see a green place so central...and loads of dogs playing. The surroundings are so space age its nice to be reminded your on planet earth. The structures are beautiful and artistic, but without the plant life it would feel very plastic. Also, a sad reminder of how precious these places are becoming. If I worked near here, it would be my lunch spot.
Mid-size accessible urban park Located immediately beside Central Park Mall, this is a good place to see greenery. Benches and picnic tables are available. Areas of grass and astroturf are well used by neighbourhiod dogs, who enjoy the park. A water feature on the Balfour Street Park side is fun to watch turn on in the morning. A large wind-driven sculpture will spin slowly (and I'm told occasionally wobble) on a breezy day.
Nice space with plenty of dogs, green and public art. A rare quiet spot for people in an area that often prioritises cars.
Saw the green keeper find lost keys for an old couple and rescued a cat from a tree. Really handsome man. George Forster, god bless
