The best muffin I’ve ever eaten. It may have been a cool, drizzly 10 degrees but the only thing warmer then their welcome and shop was the muffin. Served (still) warm after coming out of the oven, the made on site, Apple Crumble and cinnamon muffin was the perfect combination to one of the best made piccolos I’ve ever had the pleasure of inhaling. Full bodied beautifully smooth milk and delivered by one of the happiest and friendliest genuine team members. I think I’ve ever met. Downing one cup on site and one for the drive, the takeaway cup was just as delicious. If you haven’t been in to try their deliciously (made of site by the owners - Jane & Mae) there is your sign. You deserve their treats and you need their coffee.

I was suggested this place by a sweet toothed friend a while back. Then my wife won a prize of free coffee so I had to try it for sure. The coffees are fantastic but I felt guilty walking out, leaving a selection of pastries that belong down the road at the art gallery. I've been back numerous times, tried a few different cakes and have never been disappointed. Their rolls are next level, like a white guy version of a Banh Mi, its Umami in every bite. The roast beef is a gastronomic masterpiece of salty, sweet & a tang from pickled veg. A small venue, its best suited to grabbing and going though it can be quite nice people watching in the sun out the front when the weather permits.

During a recent trip to Maitland, we stumbled across Jane & Mae and were pleasantly surprised by the warm, inviting atmosphere that quickly made it our go-to spot. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel right at home with their friendly smiles and welcoming demeanour. On our very first visit, we were impressed by the attention to detail and personal touch provided by the team. Imagine our delight when, on just our second visit, they remembered our coffee order! This level of extraordinary service truly sets them apart and makes every visit a pleasure. The coffee was nothing short of exceptional and the food was an absolute treat. We are certain that Jane & Mae will be a staple on our itinerary whenever we find our way back to Maitland. We can't recommend it highly enough to anyone visiting the area.
