Newlands Park

Dogs welcome — rules apply•Dog rules

Newlands Park is a green local park at Wollstonecraft with shade, a playground and open grass. In keeping with North Sydney's parks, dogs are welcome off-leash, with dogs kept on-leash in any bushland. There is room for training, a walk and a run, with BBQ facilities and shaded tables on hand. A pleasant off-leash spot close to home.

Dog rules

North Sydney is a dog-friendly area and all Council parks and public reserves are off-leash areas, except for bushland areas, playing fields when organised sporting events are in progress, and venues where dogs are not allowed. Dogs must be under effective control at all times. (Source: North Sydney Council — northsydney.nsw.gov.au)

Has potential. BBQs worked but were both filthy. A great deal of shady trees and some tables. Very little shelter from rain. No toilet. At the time of my visit, there were two large active construction sites neighbouring and some council streetwork which did not improve my experience of park. A lot of foottraffic (mostly dog walkers). Overall kinda a dingey vibe.

Newlands Park is a great spot for some fresh air and downtime, owing to its spacious layout. The park is big enough to offer a sense of openness and escape, making it perfect for picnics, casual strolls, or simply basking in nature's glory. A noteworthy downside, however, is the lack of sufficient parking facilities which might be inconvenient at times. The playground equipment, while not top-tier, is passable, offering a range of fun activities for kids. It serves its purpose and does add to the park's family-friendly appeal. Lastly, the park's proximity to my apartment is a plus, making it my go-to spot for a quick getaway within the city. While some improvements can be made, Newlands Park is a refreshing space for both individuals and families to enjoy.

Great park you can enjoy sunlight, training, walking dogs and have kids to run around!

Nice little park with lots of open space. However there are a lot of constructions next to it and the road leading to the park is not easy for walking.
