Sub Base Platypus is a revitalised harbourside site at North Sydney, with heritage buildings, a playground and water views. In keeping with North Sydney's parks, dogs are welcome off-leash, with dogs kept on-leash in any bushland. There is shade, BBQ facilities, toilets and parking on hand. A characterful off-leash spot by the harbour.
North Sydney is a dog-friendly area and all Council parks and public reserves are off-leash areas, except for bushland areas, playing fields when organised sporting events are in progress, and venues where dogs are not allowed. Dogs must be under effective control at all times. (Source: North Sydney Council — northsydney.nsw.gov.au)
Beautifully landscaped, there is a cleverly designed children's playground, coffee kiosk with wine beer and bites. Very tranquil spot. Bbqs, seating and shade. What a gem! The cafe is called Torpedoes.
So happy to live next door. Looking forward to the upgraded amenities and easier access. But even now a lovely place next to the water with nice spaces to walk our dog and just enjoy your time in tranquility. Also a nice place to spot birds - just beware of the seagulls, as they can be vicious.
Fantastic place. Catch the freedom, North Sydney, Enjoy reading about the history, Seeing the architecture And having a barbecue. Walk to neutral Bay (About 20 minutes away) Catch the ferry back. Leave the car at home.
An brilliant place with many interesting historic layers, harbour, shipping, gasworks, torpedo factory and submarine base. Now with new parks and foreshore. A great place to explore.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
