Marr Playground is a small, cosy park in Petersham with a fenced playground and open space for a walk. Dogs are welcome on-leash here — it is not a designated off-leash area — so it suits a short local stroll rather than off-leash play. There are cafes and a pub close by. A simple, pleasant neighbourhood stop.

Inner West Council's "Dog exercise areas" page states: "By law, dogs must be on a leash in public places unless the area is a designated off-leash area." This venue is not listed as a designated off-leash area on Inner West Council's Dog exercise areas page. Dogs are not permitted within 10 metres of children's play equipment.

Fellow dog owners be aware: Found what seems to be specifically placed food at two of the four entrances of this park this morning. I didn't check the other two but seems a little alarming with the prevalence of dog baiting recently. Keep an eye out for if your dog finds any food laying around. 5 stars for the park itself though, great place to walk your pooch. Completely fenced off.

Decent park but could use more vigilant dog owners to clean up after their dogs when they do their business, big dogs on a leash are impressive but cleaning up poop is really a show stopper....
