Nice cafe! We came here in the morning, not very crowded. The coffee was good and the bread was great. The staffs are so friendly, the service is another level. It’s just 5 minutes walk from Petersham train station. Street parking also available.

The coffee is decent, the food is pretty good, but it’s the Service that gets The Counter 5-Stars!

Great tasting Acai for the morning, might be better if it wasn’t cold and raining but shall be back for mote food

You can tell they love what they do, and that energy translates into everything they serve. The sandwiches? Top tier. Thoughtfully crafted with fresh, quality ingredients and bold, balanced flavors. Whether you’re in the mood for something classic or something with a twist, you’ll walk away satisfied. The coffee is equally impressive — consistently smooth, strong, and clearly made with care. It’s rare to find a place where everything feels this dialed in. The Counter isn’t just a café — it’s a community staple, and absolutely worth a visit (or ten).

The Counter honestly felt like home. As soon as I walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and relaxed. The staff were incredibly friendly and genuine like catching up with old mates. Coffee was perfect (smooth and strong), and the food came out quick, fresh, and full of flavour. You can tell there’s care in everything they do, from the service to the details on the plate. Such a wholesome spot in Petersham, the cafe is supposed to be there. I’ll be back
