We were told that most of the desserts and main dishes on the menu were unavailable because lamb was not available. It was strange not to have meat on such a busy day like Saturday. We tried a Turkish dessert, but it didn’t reflect the authentic taste. The only good thing was the Turkish coffee, which is not something difficult to make.
To be honest we didn't really order any proper turkish dishes from this place. So it feels a bit weird to review it. Anyway. I got the chicken schnitzel sandwich and my wife got the adana wrap. And we got 2 smoothies. A banana smoothie and a mango/pineapple smoothie. The food was good. The adana wrap was the highlight. It was flavourful and very juicy. The chicken sandwich was good as well however I was a bit disappointed because the sandwich was cut in half and one half of it barely had any chicken in it. In my photo it looks fine but that's because the chicken was at the front but its actually just a thin strip. Most of the sandwich was empty. Thankfully not both halves were like that otherwise I would have complained on the spot. The drinks were also pretty nice. Would go here again if in the area.
Open all day from breakfast to dinner most days, this is a great Turkish Cafe. We came for dinner and the waitress was welcoming and helpful. We tried the Turkish Meatballs which came with yummiest sauce, the lamb and chicken shish and the Mix Grill which was a great way to try a number of different meats. This is a welcome new restaurant to Stanley Street and nice to see something different as well. Definitely give it a go.
Desserts definitely deserve 5 stars!!! Trilece is like tiramisu without coffee, and it got so many dairy flavors inside, the cream and syrup on top are brilliant. MUST TRY. Baklava is just an Arabic dessert, but tastes better than I had before.
Cappadocia Cafe is a beautiful slice of Türkiye right in Sydney. We had an incredible experience filled with vibrant flavors, warm hospitality, and a cozy atmosphere that instantly made us feel welcome. We started with the Turkish Breakfast Feast, which truly lived up to its name. It was a colorful and generous platter that brought together sujuk and eggs, menemen, cheese borek rolls, pastirma, smoked turkey, beef mortadella, olives, assorted cheeses, fresh veggies, honey and kaymak, dried fruits and nuts, and seasonal fruit. Every item on the board felt thoughtfully prepared, perfectly balanced, and bursting with authentic flavor. The Turkish bread served on the side tied it all together beautifully. Next came the Çılbır, a stunning combination of poached eggs over cool garlicky yogurt, topped with hot paprika butter. It was light, tangy, and indulgent at the same time, served with soft, fresh Turkish bread. Definitely a dish worth trying. The Simit Tava was crunchy on the outside, soft and cheesy inside, and coated with sesame seeds. It was the perfect street food-style comfort dish, done with a unique twist that made it stand out. We couldn’t leave without dessert, and the Trilice was the highlight. Light, milky, and delicately sweet, it melted in the mouth. We paired everything with a pistachio latte and a cappuccino, both smooth and full of flavor. The service was warm and attentive, and the entire setting had a relaxing, charming vibe that made it ideal for brunch or a catch-up over coffee. For anyone looking to explore authentic Turkish breakfast or desserts in Sydney, Cappadocia Cafe is a must-visit.
