Disappointing function experience that did not meet expectations. After attending a 21st birthday function at this venue some years ago, I booked it for my daughter’s 18th birthday, expecting a similar experience. Unfortunately, the service we received did not live up to expectations. While the initial booking process seemed straightforward, our experience began to deteriorate once we dealt with the maitre d’, Frederico. From our first viewing of the function space through to the event itself, interactions were consistently unpleasant and unprofessional. When we arrived to set up (35 minutes prior to the scheduled start time), we were told we were “too early” and were met with complaints and threats of being charged an extra hour. When we were eventually allowed upstairs, the space was extremely dirty and clearly had not been cleaned after the previous function. No staff attempted to prepare the room, and my daughter and I were left to clear dirty plates, wipe tables ourselves, and try to clean a heavily soiled floor. Unfortunately, the hem of her dress was stained with grime from the filthy floor before the party even began. The catering was also disappointing. We spent close to $1,000 on food that largely went untouched. The pizzas were poorly prepared (undercooked in the middle, badly cut, and messy to serve), there were not enough clean plates, and the quality did not reflect the cost. Staff advised that function food is not prepared on-site, which may explain the difference in quality compared to the restaurant downstairs. Other issues included the DJ arriving late, substandard drinks, and repeated requests for air conditioning during a very hot summer evening being ignored. Throughout the event, the maitre d’ openly complained about guests to staff and about staff to guests, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere and felt highly inappropriate for a private function costing in excess of $3000. We later heard from a former employee that Frederico hates functions, and unfortunately that sentiment was clearly reflected in the service we received. While the restaurant itself may deserve its positive reviews, the function service is a completely different experience. Based on this event, I would not recommend this venue for private functions or milestone celebrations.

Wow, Wow, Wow. What an amazing establishment. 5 star service and five star food. Our servers were lovely and so attentive, the owner Federico was an absolute gentleman. We had the prawn linguine and the carrivora pizza, we both wanted more !! We have eaten at many Italian restaurants, but this one was by far my favourite. Their pizza bases and pasta are all made fresh on the premises and you can tell !! We are from Sydney and we'll definitely be back. Thank you for a great evening.

I was here on Friday the 5th of September 2025 with a small group of friends! And we basically made our table a buffet for us! We had pizzas, pastas, coke and another drink I don’t know the name of, it was all amazing and very delicious. With the bathrooms there is a sign before you walk into the bathroom hallways with 2 slices of pizza each one has the different genders (male and female). Also with the bathrooms there is no male bathrooms. There’s a female and disabled, but no male. I’m disabled (not physically) so it didn’t hurt for me to use the disabled.

The boss recommended the pizza, and it was undeniably delicious, but the service was a bit slow; I waited 40 minutes for it. The service was good, but I was cut in line by other customers while waiting for seat Based on previous reviews, I also ordered the squid ink pasta, but it had no flavor at all. I'm not sure if it was my taste buds or if the chef forgot to add salt. I had to add extra salt just to give it some taste, but it ruined the dish. The hard chunks of salt combined with the soft pasta made me question what I was actually eating.

Incredible experience in the heart of Terrigal! The pizzas were divine, pasta dishes were gourmet, and the Italian wine was delicious. Service was super attentive and warm. They even made a special Nutella calzone not on the menu for my daughter’s birthday — absolutely amazing! A true gem. We’ll be back again and again!
