The indoor seating here is limited, but there’s a charming “backyard” area with more tables, each accommodating up to 6 people. My favorite dish was the sourdough toast with scrambled eggs—the toast was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The slice was impressively large, making it ideal for sharing between 2 people. We also tried the almond croissant, which stood out as the most "solid" croissant I've had. Unlike the usual soft and flaky croissants, this one was filled! It had a sweet filling made from a blend of almond sugar and other ingredients I couldn’t quite recall. If the weather is nice, definitely opt for the outdoor seating—it's a lovely spot!

The food was nice when it came. Nothing exceptional, but good stuff and reasonably priced. Coffee was lovely and had some nice latte art, as did the hot chocolate which was also very good. Service was friendly, but slow. Food took a while to come out at all, then came out far apart, then after waiting another 20 minutes we went back inside to find out they'd forgotten one of our orders. They (not very quickly) made it up again, and then forgot to put the chutney in (or made the wrong thing) meaning to was pretty disappointing, but by that time we were past needing to leave so had to accept it and go. However, I firmly believe this was just bad luck, so whilst it somewhat ruined our first experience here, I still intend to come back and give it another shot, and will update my review when I do. Given its location on a very busy main road, it's not particularly relaxing or serene, but the vibe is still nice and I would definitely meet up with friends here. Not especially family friendly due to a lack of highchairs and the aforementioned busy road. But they do have a very small kids menu. Ample street parking in the surrounding area.

No sourdough, no croissants. Wouldn't have been a big deal, but this constituted well over half the menu. Why is it even called Bread and espresso if there is no BREAD? Very disappointing. EDIT: said crumpets, meant croissants the milkshake I had was good and the service was friendly. For that I'll up it to 3 stars.

They don’t take cash, without informing you before purchase - which soon may be illegal. The coffee is fine, but generally takes 20minutes to come. The baked goods can be ok, but also stale. The staff speak amongst themselves but don’t engage with customers- as in, not even eye contact. It has the markings of an uppity/snobby place - and I find it unpleasant - hence why I only stop when no other place is open locally. I suggest a bit more genuine hospitality!

This is a go to place in Thirroul for espresso and awesome baked treats. Unfortunately I didn’t think to take photos, however you won’t be disappointed with the food and coffee here. It’s popular, and sometimes there’s a wait on the coffee, so some old school patience doesn’t astray here. It’s a go to for us when we visit friends in Thirroul, and we’ll be back for sure 👍🏽
