I had a great family reunion for Christmas with ages from 24 to 94 and Cheeky Dog had something for everyone. Food choices ranged from simple to gourmet for we older adults. So pleased to have the different choices.
First time visiting after several years (and a great visit last time). I'm not sure if it has changed ownership or kitchen staff, but had been told by locals things had gone downhill a little. Optimistically went in the hope that might be untrue, but was sadly proven wrong. Ordered gluten free Hawaiian and it was the saddest, and most expensive ($30), pizza i've ever bought. Base was stark white (and soggy on bottom), pineapple pieces were the smallest I've ever seen and can't believe the stingy amount of cheese on top. Would have said something but the person I was with didn't want to cause a fuss. Won't be ordering food here again
On NYE For $32, I ordered a souvlaki chicken which tasted like water and had no flavour. I believe it was a BBQ chicken chopped with some parsley! but that may have tasted better. There was no fries served, i had to go ask for them. The salad was 2 cherry tomatoes cut in half and 3 slices of cucumber with onion and 3 pieces of Lettuce. A total let down for the venue.
Such a great little hidden pub. I visited twice on one weekend, for lunch and dinner, and both times the food and atmosphere were great. The pub is clean and feels newly renovated. For dinner we went with a very large group (30+ people) and they were very accommodating. The food came out quickly and the quality was great. Everyone highly rated the Buffalo wings - including myself - so don't skip past these!
We really wanted to love this place. However, the food was average, and considering that it was peak holiday time, not all things on the menu were available. My fish burger repeated on me for hours afterwards, the crust of the pizza and the woodfired bread was delicious. However, the toppings of the pizza did not taste very good for whatever reason. I ordered a cocktail, every place I go I order a dirty vodka martini, and it was probably one of the worst ones I’ve had. The location was fantastic and the venue itself was lovely. The young man that seated us was also lovely. If you love food, and that is an important part of your experience, then this may not be the place for you.
