What people say
I have been visiting Oasis on Beamish for many years, and I would like to especially commend the gaming staff for their excellent service. The gaming team is consistently friendly, professional, and attentive. They are always willing to help, whether it’s assisting with machines, answering questions, or providing drink service. Even during busy periods, the gaming staff remain calm, polite, and respectful, making customers feel welcomed and well looked after. What I appreciate most is their positive attitude and approachability. The gaming staff clearly take pride in their work and provide a high standard of service, which makes a big difference to the overall experience at the venue.
I’ve been visiting Oasis on Beamish, Campsie for many years, and sadly my recent experience was disappointing and familiar. I noticed that some staff members, particularly Jesse and a female staff member who says she is the manager, spend a lot of time standing at the counter chatting with intoxicated customers. While this is happening, regular paying customers are often left waiting. On more than one occasion, I had to ask several times just to be served a coffee, which made me feel ignored rather than simply forgotten. I want to be very clear that this feedback is not about race or community issues on my side—I respect everyone equally. What matters to me is fairness. Loyal customers should receive the same level of service, courtesy, and basic attention, regardless of who they are. There is one male staff member who is consistently polite and professional, and service is noticeably better when he is working. Unfortunately, he is not there very often. I’m sharing this because I have supported this place for years and would like to continue doing so. I hope management can address these concerns and ensure a more professional and welcoming environment for all customers 😔😔
Far too close to busy roads with windows that don't seal out noise. Bar and Bottle'O managed by reception staff so entrance is around the side of the building which looks a little seedy. Our room wasn't 100% clean and I understand its cheap for what it is, but the maintenance/upkeep was poor. Shated bathroom facilities which were pretty clean- the guy had just finished mopping. In the end we didn't stay as they were unable to offer us alternative rooms. Maybe 2* at a push.
Awful. Ended up leaving a couple nights early because of the condition of the rooms I stayed in. Bed sheets had stains on them, dust all over the wall and found a decent sized cockroach scurrying around the room. After a couple of nights I asked to be moved rooms and was moved a few doors down, this room was arguably worse than the other, with the same issues in cleanliness and had big cracks in the ceiling. Then once again I see a huge cockroach scurrying around on the wall, and that night I packed my stuff. Staff were friendly and did what they could to help me hence the good service review. But all in all a bad experience.
I have been a regular customer at Oasis on Beamish, Campsie, for about 8–9 years. I usually don’t leave reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience. On my recent visit (Saturday, 23rd August ), I noticed the same issue that I and many from my community have felt for a long time: the service is not fair or welcoming to everyone. While some staff members are very attentive and friendly to certain groups, many times we (Nepali, Indian, Bangladeshi customers) are overlooked. For example, we often have to get water ourselves, while others who are not even playing or buying drinks are offered service and smiles freely. I want to make it clear that I have no issue with any community—I respect everyone. But as loyal customers who spend time and money here, we feel we deserve the same respect and attention as others. It’s disheartening to see this pattern for so many years without change. I truly hope management will look into this and ensure fair and equal service for all customers. Oasis has been a place I’ve enjoyed for years, and I would love to continue feeling welcome here
