I visited today around 1:15 pm and ordered a chicken nuggets meal for my 14 month old, along with a Tradies Favourite and drinks. The service was friendly, and the staff were nice, which I appreciated. However, I was horrified to find a fake nail in my toddler’s chicken nuggets meal. I found this concerning and quite unhygienic, especially considering the meal was for a toddler. Food safety and hygiene are extremely important, particularly when it comes to young children. This is completely unacceptable and very disgusting. Food for young children must be handled with the highest hygiene standards, and this clearly wasn’t the case. I hope management takes this seriously and ensures proper food safety practices are strictly followed.

My favourite local coffee shop. Mum and I have a tradition of going every so often and sharing the eggs Benedict for breakfast. The portions are large, two sourdoughs with eggs, avo, spinach, bacon etc 🤤but I’m also quite short so I reckon it could be eaten by yourself if you wanted. The coffee is great! They used to have local pottery for sale but not anymore but it was really cute- I got a travel coffee cup and it’s my favourite. I came here with my partner once and she said she had the best chai she’s ever had! The workers and all friendly, of course as a local shop they know everyone and their families names too.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 6/5 Stars – This Café Is Pure Joy on a Plate! 🍑🍒☕ I came in needing caffeine and left with a full heart and a dangerously high pastry standard. Iwould just like yo start with the peach and cherry tarts that Charles makes when hes free—OH. MY. WOW. Real butter in the biscuit base, and you can taste the difference. Buttery, crumbly, golden perfection holding fresh, juicy fruit like it's cradling national treasure. I nearly proposed to one. The coffee? Elite. My flat white was so smooth it felt like velvet in a cup. Major points to the barista who made it look effortless (and maybe read minds?). The vibe? All sunshine, smiles, and good tunes. Cozy enough to stay all day, stylish enough to feel like you’ve got your life together. Get here fast. Get the tarts. Get your life changed.

For the area, this is a pretty solid spot for a breakfast bite. The menu is simple, and the coffee hits the mark. The food was decent—nothing exceptional, but it did the job and suited the setting well. There are a couple of outdoor tables for small groups, along with a few indoor seating options. Service is counter-style—friendly, with just the right amount of interaction. The atmosphere is relaxed, with the occasional burst of noise from Picnic Point Road and some colourful locals adding a bit of character to the experience.

We felt like having a lazy sunny Sunday brunch so we thought we'd try somewhere new - The Shop. A little corner cafe with a little bit of a vintage vibe. A sweet craving led me to the buttermilk pancakes with banana, berries, maple syrup and ice cream. My better half chose the bacon and egg roll. We added a couple of coffees, they added a 10% Sunday surcharge. A lazy almost $50 in total. Given the premium pricing, we expected a little something extra from our meals but were left disappointed. My pancakes were flat, dense, dry, lacked flavour and (we suspected) buttermilk. The unhulled strawberry halves and the blueberries were neatly arranged in a border on the top pancake. In between the two stacked pancakes I found a few small slices of banana and sliced strawberries. Our suspicion that the maple syrup was actually 'maple-flavoured' was confirmed by our server. Definitely not worthy of the $23 (surcharge included) price tag. The bacon and egg roll was as described. Bacon, egg, small bread roll. Again, not worth the price. Rising costs are everywhere but we've had better, more generous food and hospitality elsewhere so unfortunately we can't give our brunch a good rating.
