Sylvan Grove Native Garden is a park in Picnic Point. Dog access isn't confirmed, but it may be worth checking.

Dog rules

–Canterbury-Bankstown City Council's "Pet-friendly parks and reserves" page states: "please remember to keep your dog on a leash unless the reserve is classified as a 'dog off-leash area'." The council's "Animals and pets" page summarises this as: "Keeping your dog on a leash, unless in a designated off-leash area." This venue is not on Canterbury-Bankstown's published off-leash list, so the council's general on-leash rule applies under the NSW Companion Animals Act 1998. Easy track that my 5-year old easily finished. Love the different types of plants there is in lot amongst residential houses. (A dog was barking at us from an adjacent house.) The track is open on weekends during spring.

Stunning garden, with plenty of native orchids. Also lots of Waratahs and other native plants, definitely a must see in the spring. Free entry as well because of the hard work the volunteers do, so be respectful and enjoy!

Free. Relaxing. Best to go on a sunny day to fully enjoy this hidden treasure. Allow at least an hour. Entrance in a suburban street is deceptive, looking like a simple town block. Park just inside. Get in, and it is beautiful, tranquility amidst the burbs - a delight to walk around and soak in the wonderful range of Australian flora, all well marked, and many from the local area. Love native Aussie plants? This is the place to go. Friendly gardener. Lovely seats all around inviting contemplation or a good book or a good chin wag…. Maybe even a picnic at one spot. However, we went on an overcast day and after rain, earthy and some mozzies, and it had an air of dullness about it, a little forlorn perhaps, a garden of yesterday, needing some more attention, and hopefully not forgotten by council who would do well to do some “updating”. Could do with a little more arboreal assessment re pruning and plant upkeep. . .

A secret garden great for the whole family. I’ve been looking for a toddler friendly bush walking track and I’ve found it! 1km easy flat walk but could bring a pram too (although it is not paved. No Bikes). Easy signs and arrows with tracks clearly marked. Loved looking at plants, flowers and finding little statues amongst the brush. They do a spectacular job maintaining this little oasis so we can all enjoy. Definitely will be one of our regular walks. Wear mozzie repellent and bring some water. Warning: there are snakes signs. I didn’t see any snakes though.

Interesting little native garden nestled amongst the suburban houses. Small but lots of different plants and flowers down a meandering track, which you can complete within 15-20 mins. Not much to do except looking at the trees and flowers and plants. There’s a tiny pond as pictured.
