Dixon Park sits above Dixon Park Beach in Merewether with sea views, sheltered picnic tables, electric BBQs, and a playground. A footpath leads down to the beach below, where visitors mention natural rock pools and free cold showers. The kiosk sits near the carpark; toilets are about a 50-metre walk up the slope.

In the park itself, dogs can be off-leash between sunrise and 9am, and again from 5pm to sunset — leashes apply outside those hours. The Memorial Walk and the 10-metre zone around the playground are dog-free at all times. Merewether Beach and Dixon Park Beach are confirmed dog-friendly nearby — but check each venue's specific rules, which differ from the park's.

Dogs are not permitted on the Memorial Walk or within 10 metres of a playground. Easy access, great views from the car park. Walk from here down to the beach or along the footpath. Free cold showers after you swim is a bonus
