Unfortunately our last dining experience was very poor. It is regular catch up spot for locals but on this visit there were only 2 tables occupied. It was burger night and most of the diners at our table had the special. Half reported their meals were cold or must have been sitting waiting for other orders to be completed. I had the Parisian steak and Frites which cold and almost raw. The chips were saturated in oil and it was really all a bit sad for a fave local to deliver this standard of food.
Delicious food, I enjoyed the chicken schnitzel. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to ensure I had an enjoyable experience (changing the channel of the TV next to my table so I could watch the soccer, and getting the bistro to add pepper sauce to my schnitzel after I had finished making the order because I forgot to mention it initially - all with a smile). Look forward to coming back again.
The steak was absolutely delicious—tender, flavourful, and perfectly cooked. The mustard cream mushroom and red wine jus were a great touch. But for $52 with sauce, the portion was small… the fillet barely bigger than the mushroom. Still, the quality was undeniable, and the taste alone earns it five stars. Just don’t come hungry expecting a big pub-style feed.
Beautiful local pub with an extensive menu serving some really delicious food. The calamari was absolutely outstanding and the most tender I have had in ages. The porchetta had a beautiful crisp skin and tender inside. Hanger steak was tender and soft inside with a great rub packed full of flavour. Looking forward to a couple of those schnitzels and the awesome looking new menu.
Great food, generous servings - great quality pub food. A bit higher on the scale price wise but not exorbitant. A great local pub with finer meal options. Worth checking out - it definitely would be quite busy in the evenings so I’d suggest making a reservation.
