What people say
Unfortunately a very unpleasant experiences at Barbetta. Starting from when we walked in, the café was almost empty and the waitress asked us if we were getting food. We said we were just getting coffees, so she directed us to a cramped bar seating area even though all of the dining area was empty. We got a peppermint tea where there was barely any loose tea leaves or hot water in the pot and the cup was dirty. My friend got a matcha latte, that was made with the powder and a very grainy texture.
Fantastic cooking class and an even better experience. Warm, authentic, delicious, and so much fun. Barbetta creates the perfect setting to connect, cook, eat, and enjoy proper Italian hospitality. Highly recommend! Grazie Mille!
Host recommendation that absolutely delivered. Walked past yesterday, booked immediately. Service at 6/5. Warm, hospitable, going above without hesitation. Food and drinks exceptional. Perfect pairings, thoughtful recommendations, extra mile for gluten-free options for my pops. Perfect evening.
My wife and I had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at Barbetta in Paddington, and it was nothing short of a tasty wonder. Everything felt beautifully balanced — flavourful, fresh, and not heavy at all — just perfect for a relaxed midday meal. We started with the Calamari Salad, which was light, zesty, and cooked to absolute tenderness. The Salmon Super Salad followed, packed with vibrant flavours and freshness without ever feeling overwhelming. It left us satisfied but not weighed down — exactly how a great lunch should be. But the standout? The Ricotta Cake. Truly the best I have ever had. Soft, creamy, not too sweet — just perfection on a plate. I’d go back for that alone. Barbetta has officially won us over. We’ll be returning 200%.
Such a stylish and delicious Italian café in Sydney! Barbetta is one of the most beautiful cafés I’ve visited in Sydney. The interior is super chic and cozy, with a lovely retro Italian vibe that makes you want to stay longer. I ordered a coffee, a sandwich, and the crème brûlée—and everything was absolutely delicious. I was especially impressed by the crème brûlée. It’s surprisingly hard to find a really good one in Sydney, so I was so happy to finally enjoy one that was creamy, rich, and perfectly caramelised. The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed yet refined. It’s a great spot for brunch, lunch, or even just a sweet treat and coffee. I’ll definitely be back to try more from the menu!
