This is a cafe with character from the staff, to the food and then to the environment inside. There is nothing ordinary about this cafe. Flour Drum is one of the best cafes I have visited and not just in Newtown. I was there early this week. I had completely forgotten they have a narrow and interesting outside courtyard along the side the building. Even though a bit cool, it was lovely sitting amongst the plants which frame every nook and cranny. I was too busy chatting with my friend to remember to take a photograph. I ordered the Silverbeet, Dill, Bulgarian Feta Filo Pie with a side salad. Sometimes these veg pies can be bland - not this one - the photograph says it all. Excellent dressing on the salad. It was all as good as it looks. My macchiato was excellent as usual. Macchiatos are my test of a barista. Long live cafes that have character. No wonder they have been in business for a long time. I will be back.
The owner of this cafe is one of the friendliest kindest owners I have ever met. Kind hearted friendly. These pancakes were next level and a complete joy to eat. Wonderful textures. The coffee was also good. Quick service. Friendly overall. Joy to come here
A great quiet oasis where you can disappear from the busy city for a few hours and enjoy a quality coffee and a great variety of food. With a strong emphasis on vegetarian and vegan options, as well as an all-day breakfast. It’s a real plus that they’re open until 4pm too - one reason I always find myself back here!
Absolutely great relaxed vibe… food was lovely… was perfect for a birthday brunch …courteous and smiling hosts …❤️🙌🏼 will be back…
