The Erko Hotel

Dogs welcome
Dog rating

Updated 22 May 2026

The Erko Hotel is one of the more dog-focused pubs in the inner west, with multiple areas that make it easy to settle in. There's indoor space, a front outdoor area, and a rear beer garden, all with enough room to accommodate dogs comfortably.

The setup makes it flexible depending on the day, and both outdoor areas offer shade and shelter. What sets it apart is how actively it caters to dogs — staff offer treats, there's a dedicated dog menu, and even a photo wall for dogs.

Dog rules

Dogs are welcome throughout the venue, including indoor areas, front outdoor seating, and the rear beer garden.

Please keep dogs leashed, calm, and under control for the comfort of all patrons.

Wow... this place caters to dogs as much as it does humans. There is a doggy photo wall (my boy appears twice), and a doggie menu (recommend the beef tartare or degustation). Staff are friendly and you can sit with your fur baby inside and out in the beer garden.

Room was clean and tidy with air conditioner and fan. Shared toilets and showers were clean. Wide variety of foods ( the squid was really delicious) and drinks at the pub with welcoming staff and a relaxing atmosphere. Suitable for kids and pets. Limited parking behind the hotel so getting there before peak hours is recommended. I'll definitely be going back.

Had our friends’ Christmas catch-up at the Erko Hotel with a group of 15, booking for 12:30pm, and overall had a good experience. On arrival we headed to the beer garden where our reserved tables were ready and waiting. Unfortunately, Sydney decided to turn the heat all the way up, and it quickly became pretty uncomfortable. One of the staff checked in and tried to reposition a fan for us, and shortly after another staff member thoughtfully brought out cups and a jug of cold water (completely unprompted, which was such a kind touch) Not long after, the team went out of their way to set us up with a table inside, which we were incredibly grateful for. They let us know they’d need the table back by 3:30pm, which was more than enough time and very reasonable. Food arrived quickly and was solid, and the service throughout was genuinely lovely..attentive, friendly, and proactive. You can’t control the weather, but the way the staff handled the situation made all the difference. All in all, a great spot with thoughtful staff and a relaxed vibe.

Came to The Erko for a drink and left spiritually refreshed thanks to Hugo the seccy. Absolute legend. Since meeting him, my sleep schedule is fixed, my hair fall stopped, my luck’s improved, and even my bank account seems healthier. Bloke keeps the pub safe while somehow also holding the fabric of society together. Elite venue, elite staff, elite seccy. Hugo deserves a pay rise and possibly a national holiday in his honour. Love the Sunday roasts here !!
