Diamond Bay Reserve is a beautiful cliff top reserve and popular attraction, known for its dramatic cliff top walk with panoramic views of the ocean and coastline. Most of it is fenced off at moment due to maintenance/ repairs redevelopment A spectacular setting, Diamond Bay Reserve has a 24h off-leash dog exercise area. Dogs are to remain on leash for the remainder of the cliff walk. Limited shade available, still no progress with installation of the viewing decks and cliff walk way!! There was only a few bits of timber installated in a long time ⌛️ can't see lookout/decks been usable any time soon, still not finished. Finial a cliffwalk is operating. Not the original one which seemed to be always been built. ( land slide issues) . The new cliffwalk is skinnier than the original cliffwalk. There is 2 viewing spots with clear views of diamond Bay and the ocean ✨️ worth checking out. I posted some photos of the diamond Bay cliffwalk💎 Diamond Bay Reserve, Vaucluse: A Review of Sydney's Dramatic Coastal Gem Diamond Bay Reserve in Vaucluse is less of a park and more of a spectacular cliff-top lookout, offering some of the most dramatic and breathtaking ocean views in all of Sydney. If you're looking for an escape with a raw, rugged beauty that feels miles away from the city hustle, this is the spot. What to Expect: Views that Will Stop You: The main attraction is the panoramic outlook over the Pacific Ocean. The sheer, rugged sandstone cliffs drop straight into the turquoise-blue water, creating an unforgettable vista. On a clear day, the contrast between the yellow rock and deep blue sea is absolutely stunning. It’s an Instagrammer's dream and a photographer's paradise. The Coastal Walk: The reserve forms a key part of the larger Federation Cliff Walk, connecting to areas like Watsons Bay and Dover Heights. The path here is generally well-maintained, featuring boardwalks, paved sections, and stairs that hug the cliff face. It’s an invigorating coastal stroll perfect for soaking up the fresh sea air. A Quiet Escape: Unlike the sometimes crowded Bondi to Coogee walk, Diamond Bay is often quieter, offering a more tranquil environment to enjoy the scenery. It's a fantastic place for a reflective walk, a quiet picnic, or for whale watching during migration season (May to November). Dog-Friendly (Mostly): There is a dedicated 24-hour off-leash dog exercise area, though dogs must remain on a leash along the cliff walk itself due to the sheer drops. Important Notes on Safety and Access: Safety First: The cliffs are notoriously dangerous, and there have been accidents. New fencing and safety upgrades have been implemented to ensure visitors stay on the designated boardwalks and viewing platforms. It is crucial to respect all safety barriers and signage. Current Upgrades: Sections of the clifftop walkway have recently undergone or may still be undergoing upgrades to enhance safety and accessibility (check local council notices for the latest status), which means the experience is continually improving, including new decks and seating. Parking: Street parking in Vaucluse can be limited, so arrive early, especially on weekends, or consider using public transport. Final Verdict: Diamond Bay Reserve is an essential Sydney coastal experience. It offers views that are far more dramatic and less 'beachy' than its southern counterparts. It’s highly recommended for anyone who loves photography, nature, or a challenging but beautiful coastal walk. Just remember to heed the safety warnings and stay within the marked areas to fully and safely enjoy this gorgeous reserve
