Dog rules

Dogs are welcome in this park but must be kept on a leash at all times. Off-leash exercise is only permitted in the City of Sydney's 50 designated off-leash parks — this is not one of them. Dogs are prohibited from playgrounds, sports courts, and enclosed sports ovals. Please pick up after your dog — free waste bags are available at most parks. Little tranquil riverside park surrounded by the city landscape. Great views of the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Great location if you are looking for a quick break as a local or a cheaky holiday snap as a tourist. Also good parking at the park too!

Hickson Road Reserve is one of Sydney’s most stunning and underrated public spaces. Tucked beneath the southern approach to the Harbour Bridge, it offers a postcard-perfect perspective of the Opera House across the harbour, framed by the sweep of Circular Quay and the ever-changing movement of ferries and water taxis. What sets this place apart is how effortlessly it connects monumental infrastructure with quiet human scale. From an architectural and urban design perspective, it's an exceptional example of spatial layering—where industrial heritage, iconic landmarks, and natural elements all coexist. The views are cinematic, yet the space feels deeply personal. It's no surprise this spot is popular for weddings and photography—there’s something timeless and dignified about it. The reserve itself is simple and beautifully maintained: generous lawns, mature palms, and just enough seating to linger without overcrowding. Whether you’re watching the light shift over the water, enjoying a peaceful walk, or catching the sparkle of the city skyline at dusk, Hickson Road Reserve delivers one of the most immersive views in Sydney. A quiet gem at the edge of the harbour—worth seeking out whether you're a visitor or a local in need of a pause.

This is one of the best land-based spots in the city for a view of the Sydney Opera house and the Harbor Bridge. Very clean and easy to access park. There's not much else here - so it's mostly for sightseeing and relaxing.

One of the best spots to watch fire works however not that easy to get access. But a morning walk with a little touch of rain nice and cold fresh morning breeze with the view of opera house and Harbor bridge.
