Definitely worth staying in Avoca Beach for a few nights. It’s a very chilled spot with a beautiful beach, cute local shops, and some great cafés and restaurants. It’s also dog-friendly, which is a huge plus. There are gorgeous nearby towns and scenic coastal walks to explore. Would happily come back again.
Avoca Beach is a lovely Central Coast location to spend the day. Barely 15 minutes from the seaside town of Terrigal, there's usually parking on hand and the beach itself is never overcrowded. There's two casual dining restaurants/cafes, a kiosk that sells cookies & coffee - and there's a local cinema that often entertains will live music. The local 'Avoca Beach Fish & Chips' is usually open until 8pm in summer and the beaches are often patrolled by Surf Lifesavers during the day. The waves here are typically gentle. Occasionally they build up but they're rarely too harsh to handle and locals plus visitors enjoy surfing Avoca Beach. It's a great spot for wedding photography in the late afternoons and fishermen and scuba divers are often seen at the rocks near the headland. There's a calm rockpool alongside the esplanade for the children to play in. An inland lake is located nearby. A keen eye will spot numerous wild rabbits feeding on the grass around the cinema during daylight hours and White-Bellied Sea Eagles, Seagulls and Rainbow Lorikeets visit the area daily. Weekends tend to be busiest and parking is sometimes more convenient during weekdays, although you can bypass the carpark and try the street parking nearby if pressed. PROS: * Public Bathrooms available. * Phone Reception available. * Free fresh water on tap for refilling bottles. * Public showers for cleaning off sand. * Surf Lifesavers on Patrol at various times. * Surfing lessons available. * Food and Beverages are on hand. * Fairly safe surfing environment. CONS: * Bluebottle Jellyfish arrive with Westerly winds. * Dogs prohibited on the beach.

Great beach to relax and unwind. Nice cafes on the beach to enjoy a coffee or cocktail!
A wonderful spot to catch the early waves whilst the sun is rising. There is about 5 coffee shops around that have excellent coffee of any concoction and complimented by bacon and egg rolls or freshly baked croissants and more.
