What people say
I’ve been to just about every cafe in town, and Blackbird Cafe makes the best coffee by far. Consistently excellent, every single time. Beyond the coffee, the food is outstanding. I once had the most incredible Moroccan pumpkin soup here, so good that I’ve been trying (and failing) to recreate it for the past three years. It honestly set the bar. The service is exceptional. Every staff member serves you with a genuine smile and makes you feel truly welcome. Alice, the owner, goes above and beyond. She remembers customers’ names and is always so warm and beautiful with my toddler, which means more than she probably realises. Blackbird Cafe is one of those rare places that gets everything right. An absolute gem and my go to cafe without question.
Food was excellent and well priced. Very fast service. Staff were nice, not super interactive but still polite. Coffee was beautiful. Overall, really good experience.
Stopped in for a takeaway coffee but ended up staying for a delicious slice of banana bread. Atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. Coffee was believed to be a local roast and was amazing. Outside seating as well as inside with open shop front style seating. All in all a great place to stop and unwind.
This was my second time visiting the cafe. The first time was great everything was perfect! This time there was a small incident where one of the plates I ordered was forgotten, but the staff were very nice about it. They apologized and gave me a refund right away. The food and coffee were still delicious, so I’ll definitely come back again.
We stopped here on our way through the area for lunch and I’m so glad we did! I originally asked for a macadamia flat white but unfortunately they were out of macadamia milk. Thankfully I was given the suggestion of having tiger nut milk instead and it was a great choice. I got the nourish bowl and it was delicious and healthy. I was with my mum and cousins and they all enjoyed their drinks and meals. The tea was fantastic and my cousin loved her iced chocolate. I’d definitely recommend this cafe to anyone in the area and I’ll be back next time I’m in Wollongong.
