This is a bit of a secret gem, often only known about through word of mouth. Tucked behind the church, it combines cemetery grounds with open grassed areas, creating a quieter and less conventional space to explore.
Longer grass, varied planting, and scattered trees make it a strong sniffing spot, with enough variation to keep dogs engaged. The historic gravestones add another layer to the space, making it an interesting environment for both dogs and humans. There are also more maintained grass sections closer to the church, along with a large water trough available nearby.
This is a privately owned churchyard, not a council park. Dogs are welcome but please be respectful of the space. Off-leash is generally fine, but when church services or events are in progress, keep dogs on-leash. Check signage at the entrance on the day.
Best secret dog walk area ever. My pups love running around the graves and then resting on the beautifully maintained lawns.
The attached cemetery is one of the most historically important in NSW. Well worth a visit on your own, but the monthly guided tour is highly recommended.
Came as a stranger… left with a community. Everyone wears a name badge, so nice to be greeted by name & not worry about remembering names
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
