Fitzpatrick Park

Dogs likely welcome

Fitzpatrick Park is a park in Picnic Point. Dogs are generally allowed on a lead in NSW public parks unless signs say otherwise — but the rules here aren't confirmed, so check local signage before visiting.

Dog rules

–Canterbury-Bankstown City Council's "Pet-friendly parks and reserves" page states: "please remember to keep your dog on a leash unless the reserve is classified as a 'dog off-leash area'." The council's "Animals and pets" page summarises this as: "Keeping your dog on a leash, unless in a designated off-leash area." This venue is not on Canterbury-Bankstown's published off-leash list, so the council's general on-leash rule applies under the NSW Companion Animals Act 1998. Surely it is a good place to spend your day out with the family or friends. A good place to have fun . There is a public toilets available. And recently they have created a small beach for the kids to enjoy a swim. You can have BBQ while you fishing. I really love this place.

Grew up in the area. So nice to see the park again. Needs a really good mow.. beautiful & quiet. Gas BBQ, toilets on site Lovely walks along river banks. Council have done a really good job at preservation of river banks, from erosion. Beautiful birds. Shame there isn't as many tree's as before. Would be nice if the council planted some more native tree's to replace the older versions that have disappeared. Downside no bins, so people just left their rubbish. (Doesn't take much for us, to take our rubbish home and put in our own bins)..and for that matter the fishermen to take their used or broken lines & hooks home & dispose at home. Apart from those few downsides, everyone walking are friendly, and all dogs behaved well.

Absolutely gorgeous walk along the river. Walk left and you eventually get thr opportunity to cross over into a beautiful bushland walk too.

Don't like it much, small and nothing for kids to enjoy. It's also isolated and easy to get in and out from there. The view of the river was nice and some electric barbecue spots there, though
