The Green Room Broadway is a pub in Chippendale with outdoor seating. It hasn't yet been confirmed as dog-friendly, so it's best to check with the venue before visiting.
Preferred pub for a beer after a walk in Victoria Park. There's a nice beer garden in the site as well as street seating to sit with your dog.
The Spice Bag delivered on all fronts. When Andy from Masterchef harps on contestants about pushing the flavour of something as hard as possible, the seasoning on the Spice Bag is what he's talking about. The chicken is generous, not overpriced, not dry, succulent but slightly crunchy on the exterior still. The sauce is glossy and smooth, adheres well to the chips and chicken or anything else (like our onion rings). It's got a good amount of flavour but isn't spicy, and it's not overpowering either when combined with the stronger saltier kick that you get from the rub on the chips and veg. It's never too much; it's incredibly skilled for something to be seasoned so strongly without becoming cloying or too rich or too salty. The whole pub is banging value too - cocktails for $16 are pretty rare in the city, especially only 10 minutes walk from Central. But the $21 Spice Bag would stand up well as one of the best value eats in the city. It's tasty and perfectly portioned; an instant recommendation and well worth the train trip. (Don't drive for it though. Parking in that part of Sydney is a nightmare. Take the train or Metro or bus instead.)
Outstanding spice bag with a really generous portion — full of flavour and perfectly cooked. The Guinness pie and mash was beautiful, rich and paired brilliantly with the beers. Great atmosphere with an excellent selection of food and drink. We’ll definitely be back.
Came here to try the spice bag as per reddit user recommendation and it definitely lives up to the title of best spice bag in Sydney ! The portion is very generous with large, crispy chicken pieces and everything is seasoned generously. The curry sauce is delicious too. And for $20 on Tuesdays (and an additional 10% off to make it $18 with a student discount :3) it's totally worth it. 10/10 I also tried the beef and guinness pie which was great too. Biiig portion size with the warmest, most comforting flavours. 9.5/10 The live music during weekends creates a really fun warm atmosphere ! Do be warned it can get pretty loud tho :)
The live trad band was excellent, and they poured a great pint of Guinness. However, the food really let the experience down. I ordered a spice bag that was almost inedible — the chips were overloaded with seasoning and had no resemblance to the classic spice flavour. My sister had the roast beef dinner, which was also disappointing. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place for food.
