The Duke of Enmore

Dogs welcome

Updated 22 May 2026

The Duke of Enmore stands out for both its character and its flexibility, with multiple spaces where you can settle in with your dog.

The pub has a distinct gothic, rock inspired feel, but it is also warm and welcoming. There are three separate outdoor areas — front, side, and a larger enclosed beer garden out the back — so you can choose a spot that suits the day and your dog. The rear courtyard is especially useful, being sheltered and enclosed, which can help dogs that settle better in a more contained space.

It is also worth knowing that live music often starts in the late afternoons and evenings, so the venue may be less suitable for dogs that are sensitive to noise.

Nice and cool inside on a hot day. I chilled here on Sunday with my dogs, listening to the blues and enjoying the BBQ meat, which was top-notch.

Cosy, gothic, rock-friendly pub perfectly located next to the Enmore Theatre for a pre-show drink or meal. Friendly staff, top-quality food, and a dog-friendly vibe both inside and out, with outdoor seating at the front, back, and on the street. Great for both summer and winter, with a lovely cosy fireplace for the cooler months.

I love The Duke of Enmore! Been here heaps of times and the last time I came they had renovated the live music area. This venue is a top one for live music in Sydney. Came here to See No Bull and had a blast just the same as every time I've visited!

Typical Sydney pub. The staff were neither rude nor friendly. The pizza was pretty good. Some of the furniture is literally on it's last legs. Avoid the bathrooms at all costs.

With the closing of Frankie's Pizza, The Duke became the best live music venue in Sydney. Decent space (good capacity, high ceilings, and you don't feel suffocated like at Frankie's); good choice of bands; diverse and "good vibes" crowd (I never encountered troublemakers at The Duke) and a good PA system that ensures the shows always have decent sound quality. If you like rock/alternative/metal etc., you need to visit The Duke! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
