Jacoby’s Tiki Bar

I really want to love this place. But ... does it really want to be a tiki bar or just a themed bar for an inner west jolly. Some poor experiences of late. Arrived at the appointed hour for advertised DJs, they weren't on and staff were none the wiser. Some of the staff are excellent it must be said. Not sure some staff, though, have any genuine or even remote sense of a tiki bar. Some of the woeful music choices suggest no sense of a tiki bar in which case makes it a themed bar as paragraph one.

Great cocktail bar to feel like you are in Hawaii. Nice and cool atmosphere for a date or to take friends somewhere new. Not your average bar as the best drinks are mostly cocktails and require some time to be made. However they are a spectacle and well worth watching. They differ a lot in taste and ingredients so best speaking to the bartenders about who are always friendly and approachable. Have no tried the food there, is a noticeable walk from the centre of newtown and the station.

Look if you like tiki drinks go here, as soon as you’re able to. It’s great, it’s classic in the right ways and original in others, and its fun as hell. I recommend the Funky Alexander! For those who aren’t a fan of loud music, go earlier in the opening hours! In my experience it got louder as the evening progressed

Amazing cocktail bar! Superb cocktails, friendly staff and terrific ambience. I was so enamoured with a particular cocktail no longer on the menu and not only did they make it for me, they gave me the recipe and a bottle of the hard-to-find key ingredient! Simply awesome!

Legit one of the best bars in Sydney. This hidden gem provides entertainment, the best music, and the most friendly staff I’ve experienced in Sydney. A little slice of Tiki madness in Sydney’s favourite suburb! Shout out to Sam who made my birthday night exceptionally special.
