OMG the splendour is worth the spend. Gorgeous views from almost every table. There's also a fabulous outdoor covered verandah with lounges and the best views. Great service by Mountain locals and excellent champagne choices. I'm going back!
We dined at Echoes expecting a premium experience given the reputation, location, and price point, but unfortunately it fell well short. Despite having a reservation, we waited more than 30 minutes for our mains. Earlier that day I completed the Grand Canyon Track, yet I probably used less energy on that walk than I did trying to chew my steak. It was full of fat, extremely tough, and difficult to eat. I ended up leaving a significant portion on the plate because it simply wasn't enjoyable. My partner's duck breast was okay, but nothing special. What disappointed us most was the response when we raised the issue. When paying the bill, we politely explained that the steak was bad. There was no apology, no concern, and no attempt to understand what had gone wrong. The staff simply processed the payment and moved on. The view is undeniably beautiful, and wine is hard to spoil. Unfortunately, the food felt like a waste of money. For a bill of more than $200 for two people, we expected far better quality and service. We left feeling that we had paid for the view rather than the dining experience. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.
The hotel itself is really lovely, the staff were friendly and fine dining trained. We had dinner at 8pm, the place was nearly empty, we pretty much had a whole room to ourselves which was nice. The wallpaper is chipping on the walls in a lot of spots. We both chose the blue mountains cocktail which was delicious! $32 a cocktail though. The food itself was very high quality. The duck was tender and the flavours for both dishes were great. Potatoes were very nice. Desserts were lovely as well, I forgot to take photos hah. The portion sizes were smaller than expected for the price, but after finishing our meals we were both very full anyway so that was fine :) We both really enjoyed the overall experience and hospitality. But not sure it was worth $270 for two people. It was a one-time experience we enjoyed, but in my opinion, not worth a whole months worth of groceries spent in one night.
Upon arriving in the Blue Mountains, we took advantage of the clear weather and enjoyed dinner at Echoes Restaurant. Our hotel kindly assisted with the reservation, and we were fortunate to secure a lovely table at the last minute. Although it is a popular spot with tourists, every dish was delicious, and the service was both attentive and friendly. There are two or three course menu including vegetarian options. The view from the window was absolutely stunning, making the entire experience even more memorable.
We had a truly wonderful dining experience at Echoes Restaurant & Bar. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious — each dish was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. The service was exceptional. One of our family members does not eat raw food, and the staff were incredibly attentive and patient. They carefully confirmed ingredients multiple times and kindly replaced the raw salmon with fully cooked grilled prawns for us. We truly appreciated their flexibility and attention to detail. The scenery was stunning, creating a perfect atmosphere for a relaxed and memorable meal. The beer selection was also excellent and paired wonderfully with the dishes. Overall, a fantastic experience with outstanding food, professional service, and breathtaking views. We are very grateful and would highly recommend Echoes to anyone visiting.
