Catalina Park is a park in Katoomba. Dogs are generally allowed on a lead in NSW public parks unless signs say otherwise — but the rules here aren't confirmed, so check local signage before visiting.
This park once had a lake with a Catalina Flying Boat on it as a tourist attraction, with a sandy beach for swimming. There were speedboat rides around the lake, and a mermaid would dive off the plane's wing as a night-time attraction. That mermaid was my sister. The lake was eventually replaced by Katoomba Swimming Centre, and a small lake remains. There are nice walks on concrete pathways, through wooded areas - similar to Blackheath's main park, with a new toilet block.
A quiet walk through history and nature in the heart of Katoomba. Easy access by car (plenty of parking) or bus from town. Gentle walking tracks, locals jogging and walking dogs, a large pond, and a public swimming pool. Informative signs explain First Nations custodianship and the site’s more recent history as a former race track. Not as dramatic as nearby lookouts, but peaceful and worth a visit.
Great area of restored bushland.
Very historical racing circuit years ago , only a 2km circuit , very overgrown now but a nice place for a walk .
amazing with such a pretty view 💖
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
