Salty Joe's is a pub in Huskisson where dog access has not yet been confirmed — it's worth checking before you visit.
Even on a very busy Saturday morning, the staff exceeded my expectations. From the moment we walked in, they were friendly and welcoming — such a great vibe to start the day. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and catch up with friends. The coffee was excellent, the food was 10/10, and the cosy yet modern atmosphere made the whole experience even better. Highly recommended 👏✨
Stopped here for a coffee in the morning, nicely decorated cafe. Coffee was nice, process were good. The view from the large windows straight over the inlet is quite beautiful. There's some really nice leather lounges to sit at as well as bar stools, tables and chairs, inside and outside dining. We didn't eat anything but the menu looked good and everyone else's dishes smelled good. They actually cook food here which is far better than the large chain cafes that just microwave pre packaged food. I would recommend it. Waited a little long for our coffee but the location made our wait enjoyable.
This place was great. I went there today (New Years Eve) with my wife, two kids and in-laws. It was busy with Sydney-siders (including myself) and they weren't overwhelmed -food and drinks were out in 10 mins. I even asked staff for extra straws between serving coffees, they smiled and immediately delivered. I had the sweet potato chips (a large serving is LARGE), vanilla milkshake and sips of my wife's berry smoothie and acai bowl. 5 stars.
Came in for a casual catch-up with friends, merged a couple of tables, and expected a relaxed breakfast… but not even five minutes after finishing, the owner asked us to move our chairs because she “needed the table” - even though it was only 8:30am. When I asked if there was a booking, she said no, she just wanted to fill more tables because it was “almost 10am,” her busiest time. It was awkward, standing around while she moved the table & took our chairs. Even the next table commented, “Oh, how rude was that, she could have waited 5minutes for you to finish your coffees!” While the food was fine, experiences like this make it hard to feel valued as locals. In a small town, looking after your locals goes a long way. We understand it’s coming into peak tourist season & you want to seat as many people as possible, but it’s your locals who support you all year round - a little patience and consideration goes a long way.
Hospitality done right. We came in just for coffee on the recommendation of our host @ Jervis Bay Motel. After a very underwhelming experience at a local restaurant the night before (feedback provided to them directly) we were grateful for local knowledge. The place was pumping & tables were pretty well all full...a good sign, the solo Barista (a young lady) smiled warmly and say good morning as we walked in, her docket slide was full. We jumped in the line & ordered coffee with the cashier, another young lady with just the right balance of friendly & efficient & took a seat on the sofa. Coffee's were out in great time & I said to my partner "that's the best coffee I've had in a while, and she's under the pump, I think we should stay for breakfast", we quickly jumped up to grab a table as it became free, the guy on the floor was all over it, clearing & cleaning and ready for the next bums on seats. We chose simple meals with sides, that also came out in good time, poached for me, perfectly done, scrambled for him, also perfectly done. A nice touch to be able to select from a range of breads. While we dined I commented to my partner on what a tightly run ship this was. The turnover was high as breaky tends to be and they were all over it, with friendly smiles to boot. We decided to have another coffee after breakfast, despite seeing the Barista go on break & the cashier made us a coffee equally as spot on. I passed on to the cashier as we left what an awesome job they were doing and she thanked me for the feedback, they'd had someone call in sick. Awesome job guys.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
