What a wonderful Birthday Party we had at the Sconery, our little one Willow & 18 of her friends had a blast making Chocolate Cupcakes with lots of Chocolate Buttercream & Sprinkles (sorry about the mess Chef ..LOL). We celebrated her Birthday with the most fantastic Red Velvet Cake from the Sconery, beautifully moist with wonderful Cream Cheese Frosting & Strawberry Jam. Our Chef, Jason even made a slab of Cake so we could cut it into easy portions to serve & takeaway. We can't recommend enough this wonderful experience, fun & giggles had by all, even the Parents had a great time & were kept happy with the Sconery's famous Scones, Cream & Jam. Thankyou again Jason for a very memorable afternoon & also many thanks to Elsie who worked diligently behind the scenes helping us organise the event. Much Love xx

I came last Saturday to buy a cake last minute for a friend and thankfully this lovely bakery had a delicious cheesecake just right out of the oven. Purchased it without a second thought, praying hopefully it's not too sweet for my friends (they're not big fans of ultra sweet, teeth-numbing cakes) but to my surprise this cake was so so good. Everyone ate every last bite of it, definitely super worth it. Highly recommend, it's not too sweet but also savory and filling. Definitely something I would eat again. I come by here often now since it's just a few minutes walk away and it's always a delight to be there and supporting local businesses.

An absolute must visit! A friend recommended The Sconery to me and I’m so happy he did. As a fan of scones I don’t know how I’d missed this place for so long. The scones are big fluffy and so delicious. I also tried the cheese and spinach tart and it was excellent. The service was exceptional. Jason even spent a good time answering my questions about scones and helping me understand how to make them with such beautiful smooth tops. What a legend. And it’s right next to a lively kids park so perfect to bring the little ones. I highly recommend this cafe!

I ordered a Victoria sponge cake for my partner’s birthday and it was honestly perfect!! The cake looked beautiful, was fresh and generously filled, and the sponge was light and fluffy without being dry. The balance of cream and jam was spot on, not overly sweet, just really well made. The whole experience was smooth from ordering through to pick up, and the Jason and the team were lovely and helpful. It made the birthday feel extra special and everyone who tried it commented on how good it was/best Vickie sponge EVER!!! If you’re after a celebration cake that tastes as good as it looks, I can’t recommend The Sconery enough. We’ll definitely be back!!!

Updated comment - so sorry to hear of your loss. It's unfortunate you weren't able to take the proper bereavement time off as a small business. Deepest condolences 🙏 _______ I want to open by commending the owner's exceptional responsiveness; their communication back to me in Canada was very unlike other Australian establishments who often failed to respond. I was trying to make this bucket list trip special for my husband. Regarding the meal: The assorted homemade salads were the superstar (5/5), but the main items were mixed. The meat pie (2.5/5) was surpassed by superior, less expensive pies elsewhere in Sydney, containing minimal meat or vegetables and being primarily loose gravy. The pastry was quite dense as well- perhaps we were just unlucky with the distribution of content within the pie. The scone (3/5) also lacked a light, flaky texture which I have experienced in other areas of the world. The overall taste was okay however the texture and the sheen we're a bit unusual - also note that you have to pay separate for cream and jam if you should so wish. The shortbread cookie (4/5) was solid but could have used some salt offset the sweetness. The shortbread and other cookies were exceptionally well priced. While the owner was present and acknowledged our visit (made on foot in very poor weather immediately after getting off of the plane- 40 min walk), we were served by the associate. It would have been nice for the owner to be more warm as opposed to continuing to sit at a side table visible to us but not formally greeting us as first time customers from abroad. Perhaps he was working on something very pertinent but it left us feeling a little bit underwhelmed after such an initial great response by email. Regardless, their associate was exceptionally obliging and helpful and a delight to deal with..... Overall experience 3/5
