Henry Lee's Redfern is a pub where dog access has not yet been confirmed — it's worth checking before you visit.
Such a warm little spot with amazing flavours and really friendly service. The food came out beautifully presented and every dish felt thoughtful and full of character. Loved the relaxed atmosphere — the kind of place where you end up staying longer than planned. The staff were attentive without being over the top, and the overall experience just felt easy and welcoming. Definitely one of those neighbourhood gems you keep coming back to✨
Came back again and it was just as good as I remembered! The café has such a great vibe, tucked away in a little alley in Redfern and really feels like a hidden gem. The new menu was amazing especially the 🐔Stairway to Chicken, the fried chicken was super crispy and the sauce was perfect. 🧇The Waffle Like Jagger was also so fun with the pour-your-own tiramisu sauce. 🥭I also loved the Island in the Matcha drink refreshing, balanced, and the mango worked surprisingly well with the matcha. Definitely worth coming back!
Had a great brunch at Henry Lee’s and definitely worth the trip! We ordered Into My Arms, which was beautifully put together—pan-seared salmon with avocado onion sauce, soft-boiled egg, corn fritter, edamame and flying fish roe. Very fresh, well-balanced, and full of texture. The highlight for us was Pearl Jam (recommended by the lovely staff). It was absolutely delicious! A soft brioche-style bun filled with lobster salad, slightly sweet and savoury sauce, crisp lettuce, and topped generously with roe. The combination of flavours and textures was amazing. For dessert, we tried Waffle Like Jagger—waffle with coffee cream, vanilla ice cream, berries, nuts and chocolate crumble. The staff kindly removed the coffee drizzle for us, but the cream still had a slight mocha flavour, so it might not be ideal if you’re with kids. We also had Truffle Fries, which were crispy and well-seasoned—perfect for sharing. Drinks were fun too: Sakura Jelly Lemonade with big lychee pieces and pink pearls—very refreshing and pretty🌸 Iced Matcha Latte looked great for photos (I’m not a big matcha fan, so enjoyed the presentation more than the taste!)🍵 We didn’t get to try the famous Stagger Lee (fish taco) this time as we ordered too much—but definitely coming back for it next time😗 Overall, a really enjoyable brunch with great flavours, creative dishes, and friendly service. Would happily return!
A brunch spot that's as beautiful as it is delicious. Right from the creative menu names, you can’t help but want to try every dish. The ambiance is lovely and full of charm, and the service is excellent. Recommendations: “Rice Rice Baby”—a tasty ochazuke-style rice dish with your choice of salmon or eel. “I Want It All”—featuring well-paired ingredients and rich, satisfying textures. Enjoying a brunch like this leaves both your eyes and taste buds fully content. 😌
It’s not easy to find the place, a hidden gem it is. They offered a warm welcome at the reception, although there will be very limited waiting spaces if it is raining. The service is excellent, they care about their customers. They provide a good selection of choices, from typical brunch and special menus, they are an old fashioned kind of fusion brunch, the food and coffee is good, though I would expect they will be more innovative with their special menus. Overall, it is a decent place, worth a visit if you haven’t been, but I may not pay a revisit anytime soon.
