A wonderful place to spend the day with kids, have a picnic, or celebrate a child's birthday—it's shaded and simply a lovely spot.

I spent most of my early childhood growing up in this park at the start of 1980's when all the local kids would meet here on weekends and school holidays and would just play unsupervised until it got dark. I remember celebrating many a birthday here back in the day when kids were just happy to be outside, running around with friends and the sun on their backs! Quite often during summer we would run the hose down to the top of the slippery dip and with a bit of detergent we had our very own water slide, and we would all go flying down, and, almost always end up stacking it at the end as we came flying off it! I also remember a few of the older kids building a huge flying fox between two trees and we would all climb this huge ladder to get up there, (none of our parents knew what we were doing and I am pretty sure I was only around 5 or 6 at the time), and I remember one of boys getting stuck about halfway through and he ended up falling and his brother tried to catch him but he still ended up breaking an arm. There was also a great mulberry bush in the side lane where we would all pick the berry's and come back covered in red stains from head to toe! What a great park, fine times, I loved growing up in that era, best childhood ever!
